Great Little Speaker
Awesome little speaker and so portable. The sound is rich, bass-y if you know what I mean. I mean not like a subwoofer by any means but there is a nice rich sound, surprisingly loud for the size. This thing is not big! The battery life is amazing. I think I've charged it twice in a year and I use it maybe twice a week to play a few songs here and there. The controls are simple and the design looks very cool. Highly recommend.

Exactly What I Was Looking For - Small Size, Good Sound, Long Battery Life, Strong Build Quality, Affordable
I did a lot of research before purchasing this bluetooth speaker. I wanted something that was easy to grab and carry around the house so that I can listen to music in different rooms. I wanted something with long battery life, so that I could spend more time listening to music, and only have to charge it up occasionally. I wanted a speaker with Bluetooth 4.0 (for use with my iPhone), and with an Aux cable input (my old iPod Nano doesn't have Bluetooth). I wanted something colorful (most units are boring black). I wanted a device with decent sound, but was willing to trade off bass performance for size/weight/cost. It needs to be loud enough so that I can hear tunes in the shower when the speaker is on my bathroom counter. And finally, I wanted something affordable. I narrowed my choices down to this Anker SoundCore vs the DKnight MagicBox II. While the DKnight MagicBox II is comparable in size/price, and has a lot of positive reviews, my belief is that many of these are fake reviews, paid for by the company. I ended up choosing the Anker SoundCore speaker for 2 reasons: 1) I have many other Anker products that I love, and trust their brand; 2) I got this unit for 30 dollars on an Amazon daily deal. Now that it's arrived, I am quite pleased -- it met all of my criteria. It quickly/easily paired with my iPhone, and the sound quality was fine. It lacks the deep bass that you can get with larger speakers, but I knew that going in, and I am not disappointed at all in the sound. In fact, I was impressed with how loud the volume can go -- it packs a big punch for a small speaker. There are 3 things I would change if I were designing a 2nd-generation version of the SoundCore speaker -- of them cosmetic changes: 1) Remove the giant "ANKER" logo from the face of the speaker (it looks tacky); 2) Instead of making the unit red all over, make it black and red (e.g. black housing with a red speaker grill, or red housing with a black speaker grill) since there is just too much red; 3) Make the top buttons actual buttons with good button feedback instead of raised symbols molded into the housing. Other than these cosmetic changes, I am pleased with the size, price, sound, battery life, and overall build quality of this unit.

Anker bluetooth speaker
I’m impressed by the amount of sound that comes out of this little speaker. I have since gone to a different speaker and have stopped using it, but I loved it when I was using it. I actually bought two of them because I thought I had lost the other one. I’m not a big sound geek, but it has good sound quality. Bass is good, filled my room. No control over bass/treble. Just volume. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, a good deal for what it costs. Oh, and the room I used it in is about 11x11ft, so I don’t know if it would be worth it if you had a larger space. I suspect not.

UPDATED - Durable, Connects Well, Aesthetic, Crisp, Loud, Versatile
I wasn't sure what to expect with a Bluetooth speaker. It sounded neat on paper, but what would it really be like? I was worried about the battery life, ease of connecting to my devices, durability, and the aesthetics of something I'd be using quite often. I purchased the red model. UPDATED: Newer version released https://amzn.to/2I9aj2K you can see it BATTERY LIFE: Anker is known for their high-quality battery products. This item does not disappoint. I use it many times a week and rarely need to charge it. The unit seems to also power off if it isn't being used for a certain period of time, which is useful if you fall asleep to a movie and then would rather the battery not drain on the speaker when the movie ends. DURABILITY: I'm impressed with the rubberized material the unit is coated in. It feels strong and smooth at the same time. It's really enjoyable to touch. People consistently give me the same feedback when they hold it for the first time. The front has a strong metal grate that is also smooth to the touch in a matching color. CONNECTING TO DEVICES: I'm pleased to say the device connects nearly effortlessly to phones and laptops. Hold the "Bluetooth Symbol" button on the top for a few seconds to pair with your device. It connected easily to my Samsung Galaxy S7 as well as to my friends' Sony Xperia & iPhone 6. It connects to my Macbook Pro 2011 and Macbook Pro 2015. The speaker remembers the phones/laptops so it seems to pair quicker after the first time. Hold the power button for about 2-3 seconds and it powers on. It has a satisfying set of beeps both for turn on & turn off. AESTHETICS: I was a bit worried about the color. Often times products arrive a different color than they appear online. The red unit is really striking. The color is bold and eye catching. It looks both modern and sophisticated. It's enjoyable to touch each time I pick it up and has nice rounded corners. The input holes feel well-secured and the top buttons are responsive and nice to push. SOUND QUALITY: Plays crisp at both low and high volumes. I can play it loud enough to fill a 14x18' room or a bathroom with the shower on. It gives a new level to movie quality when watching on your laptop - suddenly you have what feels more like surround sound and deeper bass. Sound adjusts with a "+" and "-" button on the top. VERSATILITY: On the chance you don't have Bluetooth on a device, you're still in luck. You can plug a standard 3.5mm cable (headphone-type cable) into the unit for a new input source. For example, my Windows laptop has a broken Bluetooth receiver, but I can still use a cable to connect to this unit. OTHER NOTES: I often find myself putting a piece of duct tape over the front LED when I use the unit at night. It does come with the micro USB cable needed to charge, but you must supply your own power brick to charge it. For most people, this won't be a problem since most people have phone chargers and this item rarely needs to be charged. Anker also has a warranty on all its products, so I'm resting easy knowing if anything happens to my device, they'll make it right. Warranty info: http://amzn.to/2lpGgFk Recommended product. EDIT 2/8/17: Have used product over 6 months. So happy had to buy another since my dad kept stealing it. Adding photos of it as well.

I am a picky guy when it comes to products, I go over quality than affordability. Anker SoundCore is one of Ankers portable speakers which competes with high-end/expensive portable speakers. with a speaker at this price point I was expecting to get a mediocre sound quality, but read the full review to see what I got from this speakers usage over 6 months. Style and built: This speaker looks a bit larger in photos but it is a big small and in a compact form. It has squarish with rounded edges with matte finish, which makes it look sleek. I choose blue over black for its brightness, plus black sounds boring. The speaker is really small for what it can deliver, plus it is much smaller than high-end/expensive speakers. Not to mention the speaker weighs almost nothing, well its about 400 gram. performance: As mentioned, I was not expecting high quality sound from those speakers for their price, but during the period of my usage they did deliver good sound quality for different type of musics. the highs and mids of this speaker is close to perfect, they deliver high-mid range frequencies (Piano, Guitar, Vocals and any similar type of sounds) sounds clearly without much distortion. The low range frequencies is where Anker lacks a bit, the base is there but is not enough to feel it, I would not complain about it much for its compact and small form factor, this makes the speaker a bit drawback for EDM music, other than that the base is good almost for any other music style. overall the speaker delivers crisp sound and loud enough. Battery: BATTERY! yes, uppercase, Anker SoundCore beats all other speakers with its battery life. Anker claims 24 hours of battery. I think it can last even more, I charge this speaker every once a week just to make sure it always have a full battery at the start of the week, I use this speaker mostly during shower/cooking every day, and never ran out of battery, I never charged it because I was out of battery. This makes the speaker superior for long outdoor camps where there is no electricity yet you want to enjoy the music. Pros: Solid and compact built that can fit in any carry on bag. Crisp and detailed sound with high-mid frequencies. BATTERY! long enough not to worry about if its going to run out of any. Cons: Low frequencies are not enough to fill the base intended to produce, it is not that bad, but it would not be a great speaker for EDM music. There is no hole or a place to attack a strap on the speaker, so you can only use the speaker when it is stationary. If you want to use it while moving, I do recommend Anker SoundCore Sport XL speaker: (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01DZ56MX0?psc=1) Personal Opinion: Overall, this speaker delivers a solid, and crisp sound with its small and compact form factor. I am a student and use this speaker while I shower or do cooking, occasionally I use it outdoor for camping. the battery is what makes me like the speaker more than its sound quality, it is long enough not to worry about it at all, you can travel without thinking about charging it for a week. this speaker would be great for: Students: this is mainly because of its small and compactness, this will make the speaker fairly small and light. Camping: its good for camping for its superior battery life, it is not loud enough to party on it, but its good to listen to some music in silent while hanging in the tent :). Cooking/showering: I used 6 months mostly while showering and cooking and it served pretty well for both. If you want a portable speaker to make the sound of your iPhone louder and more enjoyable, consider this speaker to be your favorite. I did not use this speaker to make phone calls, it does not advertise of it having a mic, so I believe its not meant for phone calls directly through the speaker. Note: I did get this speaker for free as a replacement for my defective unit, I do such a long review in order to support Anker for its customer service and help them to make better products.

There are so many options in the market when it comes to Bluetooth speakers, yet just a handful that give exceptional sound output. Anker makes great tech accessories and have an even better customer service. They're relatively new to the sound and audio sector, from what I've learned, but they've made a great start! This speaker is actually smaller in size than I'd imagined, yet its one of the clearest I've heard. Now, this may not be best suited for pool parties (no water or dust proofing) or playing electronic music, as it's not as loud as JBL or UE series, but its got enough bass and treble to give out the most realistic sound. It's bang for the buck if you're a casual listener who doesn't like over-exaggerated sound output. One con is I wished these were louder, but that's expected from a 12W speaker. They're still very loud for its size. And boy, does it have a great battery, usually runs atleast 8 days (not kidding) without a charge. I just wish Anker sold products in India directly, as these are far cheaper abroad (delivery from Amazon.com might be cheaper despite the import taxes). If you can get them from someone living abroad, you've got yourself a great speaker for very cheap!

I've had this speaker for about 4 years now and let me tell you, it is still working GREAT. After owning it for about a year I had decided that I wanted to try and get something better so I bought a JBL Flip 4 ($130), and that ended up only lasting me a year until it suddenly stopped working and JBL couldnt help me because their warranty isn't great, while my Anker speaker is 4 years in and still working like new. Sound Quality - The sound Quality is really really good, it's a loud enough to fill a small to medium room, the bass is obviously not as great compared to some high end speakers that focus on bass have (Ex. JBL Flip 4) but honestly was not a problem for me. - I mostly would use it in the bathroom and it was loud enough, for it to feel like a party in there hahaha Battery Life - Let me tell you, I swear this thing lasts for ever. Obviously it depends how frequently you use it but I swear ill go like a week without having to charge it and that using it at least every day for a couple of hours a day. - Even when it start to beep to indicate that the battery is about to die, it will last for like 2 hrs more. Its Great! - Although when i do use this in one sitting or take it to like a lake or something it doesn't seem too last as long then but you still get a good 3 hrs out it. Overall Quality of Speakers - This thing may not be meant to be super durable but it definitely has been for me. I have dropped it quite a few times, I always have it in the bathroom with me and have probably gotten it wet a few times and it is still going great. But if you are looking for something more durable and waterproof probably go for their Soundcore 2 (Not sure how good it is though, as I don't Own it) IF you are looking for something affordable to take to parties/gatherings and have a good Jam I recommend this product for sure!

Other ankers out there with better Bass. I'm not sure how to figure this out by reading through their descriptions. I have the anker soundcore flare mini and the Bass is much better in that speaker, though the battery life is much better in this one. Tough call and decision to choose between the two. Still overall good products.
