These are the only ones I own, so I have no comparison, but they are are rigid on the outside and have a very thin layer of felt for protection on the inside. They work well to store the 2 knives that do not fit into my knife storage block to protect them from being damaged in the drawer.

In general, the quality is pretty good and the sizes provided are quite standard.The only slight problem is that the bigger ones are just a tiny bit too loose than preferred but they still store the knives very safely unless you swing them like a racquet

Protects knife edges very securely

I have put my 8 inch and 10 inch knife in the Uber Schmitt and it works great. Does not scratch the knife and is easy to out in and take out.

My knives were taking a beating in my kitchen drawer, so I made plans to have them sharpened, and then provide better protection by ordering these knife guards. These fit my chef knives and other long-bladed knives very well. While they are in my drawer they are protected and therefor stay sharp longer.

I really love these sheaths for my Japanese knives. The finish on the outside looks almost loke carbon fiber. I just wish they would sell in different combinations that are smaller packages. ....

These guards are soft-lined so the knives are protected and undamaged. They fit snug and won't fall off. Very high quality so they will last!
