Wow
I have kindle unlimited, and I rarely spend money on extra books unless it’s an author I love. I hesitated to buy the first book in this new series because honestly it was expensive to me for kindle format! BUT, I love Allison Brennan and I hadn’t read her in awhile. All I can say is Wow. Worth every penny. I’m totally addicted now to Quinn & Costa! I was engaged and on the edge of my seat the entire time. Read the book in record time! I guess I will lose a few pounds this week because instead of spending money on food, I will be reading the rest of the books in the series! Book 2 is in kindle unlimited I believe so, yay! 5+ stars for me, I can’t wait to read more

The FBI, LAPD and Spokane PD on the Case
Kara Quinn works for LAPD. She is on a mandatory leave after she shot a suspect and finished an undercover assignment. She goes to her hometown to stay with her aunt to wait for the investigation into her case is finalized. Matt Costa is in charge of a response team that works with local governments on difficult cases. A killer called the Triple Killer kills 3 people every 3 years…a nurse, an educator and a police officer. The killer has killed his first victim in Kara’s hometown. The case has been assigned to the FBI and to Matt’s team. An exciting story begins. I’d never read Allison Brennan before. Now I’m hooked on a new series.

THE TRIPLE KILLER
LAPD Detective Kara Quinn was on a two week "vacation" in her hometown of Liberty Lake, WA. KARA DID NOT DO VACATIONS WELL!! This vacation had NOT been her idea though she did want to check on her grandmother who had been too ill to visit her in California for Christmas. She had to be busy, preferably working! She had been in town three days so far; the first day she had jogged 5 miles, the second she had worked out at the gym and today she would jog the 8 mile trail around the lake! Kara had made it to the half way point so she stopped to rest for a few minutes. She spotted some deep ATV tire tracks headed toward the lake, not a good direction to ride since the area was so rocky. As she looked around, she spotted something bright. Maybe someone had hit the rocks and flipped! She walked toward the bright color but what she found was a dead young woman dressed in scrubs with a bright pink stethoscope around her neck!Kara calls it in to the Liberty Lake PD. Detective Andy Knolls had received a.flier from the FBI.to.all law enforcement to remind them that to be aware that it was time for the serial killer, named the TRIPLE KILLER, to make his appearance again!! Andy immediately contacted the FBI. Assistant Director Tony Greer sent for Special Agent in Charge, Mathias Costa who was the head of the new Mobile Response Team. This would be their first job!! Tony and Matt had been picking who they wanted on the team but so far only one had been officially hired Rider Kim, as the team analyst. The other two who they would have were Michael Harris from Detroit who had been a Navy Seal and Jim Esteban who ran the crime lab in Dallas. Both Michael and Jim would not be able to get to Washington until the next day and the Triple Killer did his killing on a tight schedule. He killed on March 3rd, March 6th and March 9th and then he would disappear for three years! The whole idea of the MRT was to assist other law enforcement units who were short staffed with detectives, forensic, etc. Matt had been a perfect fit to head the team since he preferred to enlist help from the different branches of law enforcement, BUT if necessary he could and would throw his weight around. The one person he wanted on his team was Dr. Catherine Jones the best profiler the FBI had but she was on leave. She had been the one who had profiled the TRIPLE KILLER three years ago and he was sure she would want to be in the loop for his capture. Matt was right but she refused to go to the west coast with the team. She would work from home!!Matt doesn't know what to make of Kara showing up at both th Liberty Lake PD and the Spokane PD and sits in on the meetings. On top of that , Assistant Chief Brian Maddox of the Spokane PD and Kara seem to be friends and Detective Andy Knolls has no problem with her presence. Matt tries to have her checked out NY her boss in LA but he won't tell him much because he has a low opinion of the FBI.Matt finally gives Kara and Andy a job to find the ATV and they do. And he can't find anything really against her so she helps with the investigation. Although Matt. and Kara work very well together there are still so many secrets they are keeping from each other. This book will have you chewing your fingernails and sitting on the edge of your chair, at least it did me! I can hardly wait to read the next one in the series.

The Third To Die. A nail-biter.
It’s a novel you can’t put down until you’re finished. It is fast paced, intense to the point of being a nail-bitter and captivating.

The third to die
Eine spannende Story, in deren Verlauf so nach und nach die Beweggründe aufgedeckt werden. Allerdings sind manche Teile des Buches sehr langatmig. Trotzdem lesenswert.
