Good value for money
This is a nice little phone, needed because my cordless ones always seem to die just as I pick one up to answer a call.It is easy to set up, provided you use your imagination a bit. The handbook is reasonably informative but does make a big play of the Guardian feature, which is potentially useful but somewhat overplayed in my view. If you have caller ID the best use of the Big Red Button is to terminate the call instead of allowing it to ring until the caller gives up. You cannot block calls without a number, eg International, Unavailable, which is what most nuisance calls are. I have had caller ID for many years and simply ignore calls I am not sure about. I now have a couple of other ways of dealing with them if I so choose, providing there is a number I can block. The sound quality is excellent both on handset and speaker. The display contrast can be set to be usefully high. it's a very minor point but for me a great relief that all you need to do to make a call is to pick up the receiver and put it down when you've finished. You don't have to remember to press green or red buttons, multiple times or at all.Loading the directory is easy, if a bit time consuming, but in this price range you can't expect to be able to simply stick your SIM card in.You can turn down the ring tone so that it doesn't deafen you.The keys are nice and big.I haven't set up the answer machine yet, preferring to rely on 1571 for the time being. I will probably set it up later if only to remove the rather lugubrious message which is the factory default. You don't have to trawl through your entire address book to find a number, just hit the appropriate letter on the keypad and search on that letter. Sounds obvious but the handbook doesn't tell you. Recommended.

Good phone but has design issues.
Bought this when our old cordless BT answerphone started acting up. Decided to go back to a corded one.Initial set up is a bit complicated even with the manual, but I managed it.Doesn't seem to have sections in the menu for things I expected and has stuff I don't need.Have to say the nuisance blocker facility is BRILLIANT and worth the price just for that.My biggest gripe is that there is no indication of when the answerphone is on. Most others I've used have a light that comes on with the answerphone. On this you get a message on the screen saying "Answer off" when the answerphone is off. The opposite of what I'd expect. As a result we tend to forget that it's switched on.My other problem is the LCD screen. It's not easy to read even at max contrast. So much so that I opened it up, removed the reflective film (carefully) from the back of the LCD panel and fitted an electroluminescent panel below it. It now has a nice dim green background and can be easily read, even in the dark.

Did not receive a refund-star is reflecting the company, not the phone
The phone looked lovely but sadly was not compatible for us, and we therefore have no issue with the item itself, so please still consider it against other competitors fairly. The problem is that we sent the phone back (this being February), and a refund was okayed but to date, we cannot see that the refund was ever sent. We have sent a couple of e-mails but not received any reply. We would just like buyers to be aware of this, in case they may need to send their product back, to consider that it may not happen. If the seller responds to our review and can advise how this happened. we will of course fully rescind this comment.

Scam Calls
I bought this phone because of the 'Call Blocking' facility, and have not been disappointed, it totally screens out unwanted callers, scam or otherwise. If you don't want to take calls from the Mother-in-Law, you add her number to the banned list. It has all the facilities a small business might need, as well, Call Divert, Hold, Call back etc.You need to take the time to add to the Telephone Book all of the numbers you are happy to take calls from, but this is easily done, although if you have a lot of friends it can take some time, but believe me it is worth the trouble. Not a single unwanted call since I installed it. One of the 'best buys' of my life. For about £36 it is money well spent. I recommend it, and have no connection with BT or any supplier. I should mention that I bought it as a house phone, and not for business purposes.. I have a second hand one for sale> (True but a joke)

Beware of refunds for returns
I could not use the phone as the phone outlet was too far away from the electrical socket to plug in. It was also emitting a high level of EMFs. I returned the product and using their label provided (48 hr tracked royal mail) got stung for over £8 postage. I was told this is a buyers remorse return (not faulty) and is the amazon policy not to refund postage. I was also pestered by the sellers who phoned me and wanted my email as well. The product itself is probably fine. I did not get to test it out. Just making others aware that returning under certain circumstances will certainly give you "buyers remorse".
