Fantastic Speakers could not have asked for a better soundbar
Well let me start out with the story on how I got this. Initially when I was going to buy speakers I narrowed my choice down, it was between the Sony HT-CT380 and the Sony HT-XT1. So I went down to Best Buy fired them both up and was pretty disappointed with the CT380, the sound was really thin and was nothing like I was expecting. The Clarity was good but the bass was so bad, it was really noticeable. I then went and checked out my other option, it was the Sony HT-XT1 and I was much more impressed. That is a Sound base not a Sound Bar, basically it's the type of speaker that your TV sits on top of and does not include a sub but the quality was noticeably better and the design was sweet. I had my eye firmly on this, I than decided to walk down and check out the other sound bars as I was there already, the next thing that caught my eye was an LG Sound bar that was $200 off and sounded pretty good, but having a Sony 4K TV I think I had a bit of a Sony bias in my mind than it happened. I saw two other sound bars, it was a this Klipsch R-10B and the JBL SB400. When I listened to both, these two were far and away the two best sound bars that they had on display. So the Klipsch was priced $150 higher than the JBL, so of course I had my eye on the JBL did some tinkering with both and made up my mind I'd go with the JBL. Then I decided to check Amazon and sure enough, the price of the Klipsch was the same as the JBL, also the reviews were noticeably higher with a lot of people complaining about the Bluetooth on the JBL so sure enough, I went home and ordered the Kllipsch. So here I am, I ordered the Klipsch and once it was delivered the box it comes in is gigantic (See pictures) and when I opened the box I was impressed how well and smart everything was organized. I unboxed it quickly and hooked it up,the interesting thing about this sound bar it only uses one optical cable which controls the sound instead of a bunch of HDMI ports that everyone else seems to use. I have had zero issues with the Optical only cable and the clarity is just fantastic. It synced with my TV automatically so when I put my TV on it automatically turns the soundbar on, really cool. It also shuts down after a while when I turn off my TV. One of the biggest issues with my Sony 4K TV and why I considered a sound bar was the sound when playing games was either too high or it was too low. I was in the process of playing Walking Dead (Telltale Games) and when the characters spoke it would be too low and than all of a sudden it would be too high, without doubt this sound bar fixed that. The sound has many different volume levels so configuring to the right level it a breeze. The wireless sub is incredible and is the real star of the show this it plays movies and games so thoroughly and never once has it felt like it was straining, it definitely has to be the best in class or near. This comes with a really small remote (note even credit card sized) and it functions and works well, but I can imagine misplacing it should be easy. The only Cons of this are two things first, as mentioned the remote is so small losing this will most likely happen at some point unless you're really careful and the design leaves a little to be desired. The second issue is that the Bass can only be controlled via a knob on the back of the sub, I personally don't care that much but I could imagine someone would dislike this. Finally, the last issue is that this is a huge sound bar folks, so don't think it's going to fit on just anything, make sure you know the dimensions before buying it, but it's a good looking device.Overall I rate this a 5 stars and must say Klipsch great job!Update 4-8-16I just wanted to give an update close to 6 months later and I wanted to say, this thing has completely lived up to it's expectations. I have never had a reliability based issue with this speaker since I have owned it, and the look and feel of it is still like new. With me being a huge NBA Basketball fan, watching ESPN and TNT on this is like taking the broadcast to another level. Just the voices of analysts and the clarity of people running up and down the court is surreal, great job to Klipsh! I certainly will be buying another Klipsch sound bar in the future. If I could go back today, I would still give this a 5 stars, it is definitely worth the price of admission and is a purchase you are not likely to regret.Update 8-10-18Insane, it's been 3 years since I bought these speakers (Still have my Bravia as well) and it still sounds like the day I bought it and still looks brand new! Amazing, I haven't even considered a new soundbar since these have been so amazing. My next soundbar most likely will be another Klipsch soundbar, once they got Dolby Atmos, that'll be when I make my move, this just a great product all around and Klipsch should be proud..

If you can handle the quirks, this is a STELLAR soundbar/sub for apartment people! Might inspire neighbor hate due to sub!
Tl;Dr: Sub packs a wallop, clean and punchy with MORE than enough volume for an apartment. Bar sounds great and the mids are clean and lovely. Worth every penny if your room size or situation can't accommodate a full surround sound system. Inputs are short in supply, and the remote sucks, but if you're a "Sound is king" person on a budget...buy buy buyFirst experience:First off, I got a defective unit where the sub would pair and Klipsch determined over the phone that it was a faulty amp in the sub.Bit frustrating, but Huppins had a good reputation, so I gave it another go, packed it up, and waited for a new one.Second experience:Setup the new one and spent 3 hours demoing it last night across 10 movies and every genre of music.Mind you, I am comparing this mentally to a 3.1 Vizio system that a family member had recently purchased that sounded pretty good and an old Klipsch Promedia 2.1 PC speaker system I had in college.Subwoofer love:No comparison at all, Klipsch KILLS the Vizio system. I like Vizio, so don't take it as brand hate. I've owned their products and like them. The sub is truly the jewel in this system. Not going to lie, I started off by putting the sub at 75%, connecting to Spotify, and playing "LED Spirals" from the movie John Wick...epic...could watch my shirt vibrate at high volumes. 8" sub only? Doesn't put out like an 8" sub...I was amazed. I used to own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system for my computer in college, and that 6" sub doesn't even come CLOSE to the output of this 8". This thing cranks, without being bloated, slow, or muddy...exactly what I had hoped! Not bass wall at a concert loud, but MORE than enough for an apartment. I'll be expecting knocks at the door and complaints.Movie explosions are epic, from the battle scenes in Hacksaw ridge to the Disney opening castle with the fireworks that explode...it doesn't matter...the sub makes the experience epic.Okay...enough sub loveSoundbar:Honestly, it sounds great! The Klipsch horn technology is older than I am, but creates a sparkling treble that is unique to the brand and sounds great. The mids are slightly forward, warm in a normal Klipsch fashion, and provide crystal clear movie and vocal dialogue that cuts through the power of the sub in intense scenes and never leaves you wanting. Some have complained about the perceived quality of the soundbar, with the body being plastic. I don't really feel this, as it is solidly build and looks nice. I cannot compare to $1000 soundbars, as I haven't owned one, and wasn't in the market for one.Mounting:I've mounted mine ABOVE the TV. Why? Read any professional audio forum. Putting it on a table causes the sound from the bar to bounce in odd ways (unless at the very front of the table. AVS forum actually recommends top mounting for better sound expansion from the bar. I suppose if you had no table below the TV, a bottom mount would work just as well. I mounted mine via the Mounting Dream MD5420 Sound Bar Brackets which worked better than expected and hold the bar solidly. I just placed the mounts between the TV and the wall mount plate, which held it all in and worked better/easier than expected.Remote:Okay, this is probably my only qualm with this. The remote is super cheapy. The new RSB Klipsch models fixed this. I wish you could adapt the new remotes to this bar. However, if i've got the choice between Vizio features, a great remote, and mediocre sound, versus a crappy remote, less features, and epic sound for the price, I am a "Sound is King" person. I can deal with a crap remote for sake of epic sound at my budget. Conclusion:If you can live with FEW audio inputs, a crappy remote, and be persistent in getting a set that doesn't have a faulty sub, you're rewarded. The reward is rich powerful bass, the beautiful treble Klipsch is known for, and wonderful slightly warm mids that make both music and movies SO MUCH more involving and dramatic than with the TV speakers alone. I wanted a good carry over from TV only, until I can one day move to a house and really go crazy with a big expensive home theater system. This will be a wonderful carry over until that time! If you can live with the quirks, you'd be hard pressed to find the same sound at this price. The Vizio and Samsung bars aren't even in range of competing with this music quality.Happy shopping!
