I love everything about this beautiful little pot except that it drips a lot when pouring. It really does need to have a dripless spout. It's a perfect shape, not too small and not too big, well balanced in the hand, has a handle that's the right size, the lid stays on snugly, and when preheated it holds the tea at a drinkable temperature for quite awhile. And the porcelain is a pretty white, soft but still bright. The strainer is perfect; not a speck of tea slips through. The brew is the best I've had. That drip, though. The reason it's a 4-star review instead of 5. Would I buy it again? Yes, along with a pretty napkin to hold against the spout for the spillage.

This teapot seems sturdy and well made. Everything arrived without damage and it has a nice asthetic. However, there are three things about it that I don't like: 1: when a full pot of tea is brewed (I usually make about 800 ml of tea for this, which gives me a little space to not overfill the pot), the teapot always leaks when I pour it out. Every time. The amount that leaks down the pot and ends up on the counter is about like what would spill if you poured the tea on the counter for half a second, so not an insignificant amount. To me, this is a serious design flaw and is unacceptable in any tea pot. Once the tea gets down to about half capacity in the pot though, it stops spilling. 2: The infuser doesn't reach down into the pot as low as I would like. Lots of the teas I make expand as they are brewed, and this means that I can't brew anything in this teapot any amount of tea below 600 ml (3/4 capacity). When the pot is filled only 400 ml full (half capacity or one large cup), a little less than 1 inch of the infuser tray is actually submerged in water. Therefore, the tea in the infuser doesn't get the chance to spread out in the water and brew properly. I don't know why the manufacturer decided to not make an infuser that would get reasonably close to the bottom of the pot, but I can't make just one cup's worth of tea in this. Another design flaw. 3: This flaw is not as important as the others, but is mildly annoying. The tea pot lid fits perfectly into the infuser tray (awesome!), but the infuser tray rattles around a little when it is in the teapot (not a perfect fit). And when just the ceramic lid is on the pot without the infuser, it does not fit snugly or nicely on the pot itself. Not that big of a deal, but this is what ends up happening for me: I brew my tea with infuser and lid on for X amount of time, then after the brew is done, go to take the infuser out and put the lid back on the teapot to keep it warm. Then, when I pour the tea in the cup, I have to hold the ceramic lid on with one hand while I pour so that it won't fall off. I would have liked to be able to pour tea with just one hand. It's a minor gripe, and it might be hard to design a lid that fits in both the infuser and on the teapot snugly, but I don't think it would be impossible. If nothing else, I would want it to fit worse in the infuser if it could fit more snugly in the pot--because I never pour tea out while the tea is still brewing. If I did that, then the tea that would be left in the pot would keep brewing and taste super strong later. If these things don't bother you, definitely purchase this pot. But I would probably choose something else in hindsight.
