Before I review this product I want to dispel an error that I noticed in the questions about this product. Someone stated that they were disappointed that the watch face had a mistake on it. The mistake being it uses iiii instead of iv to notate the "4" position on the face. This is not a mistake. Every watch face that I have seen or can think of uses iiii instead of iv. This is a tradition that goes back centuries. The reason for it is somewhat unclear but their seem to be 3 main ideas.1) iv has not always represented 4. This is mainly a modern times notation. Why I don't know but some say they did not use IV since it had to do with the god Jupiter.2) There's a story about King Louis XIV that says he insisted it should be the other way and made a clock maker change it. I find this hard to believe as this type of watch face existed before King Louis XIV.3) Another common reason is that it's for aesthetics/symmetry.I am not sure what the real reason is but I do know that when it comes to Roman numeral watch faces, iiii is the correct way to mark "4". This watch DOES NOT have an error on its face.Regarding the review of the watch itself... This watch is surprisingly heavy and well built. The wood grain look is lighter than pictured but still very beautiful. The cut out in front and back add to the styling and seeing the inner workings is stunning. Retro is in right now. This pocket watch is definitely eye catching and unique. For the money, the quality is amazing.

The media could not be loaded. So far I love it! The time once set is accurate, the weight and feel of it is very nice, easy to wind, and the movement inside is mesmerizing.

Everything about this watch seems great except the 'glass' is very much plastic. Kinda expected for a watch of this price range, and everything still looks great. The front cover does have a hole through it though, which I expected to be covered with at least the same plastic as the watch 'glass'. Would allow scratches and such to get onto the actual watch 'glass' instead of the cover.

Pro: This Steam Punk watch was a gift for my boyfriend and he is absolutely thrilled with the looks, build quality is solid, see-through movement both front and back. The gold glitters inside and out in both daylight and soft lighting.He has only had it for a week, but reports it's keeping excellent time. He takes great pleasure in winding it twice a day, about 10 turns each time, as was recommended by the seller. The watch has a wood look circular band that was not reddish as shown in the photo, but a deep dark wood color instead. That could be why someone returned it and it was sold "as new in original packaging" for a few dollars off. I'm always happy to save a few dollars!Con: None yet. I can't comment on the durability yet, but it's so beautiful that I think it's a great value. Personally, I would like to purchase it again if it's ever available with a battery option also. Recommended!

EDIT- seller reached out to resolve issue of the original 2 star review. a New watch was delivered and the second watch is much better. The cover is now centered and no finger prints on the internals. Well expected for the price i paid. i’d give a 4 stars for quality of time. but the seller makes up for it with good customer service (personal typed out apology was delivered with new item)

Beautiful workmanship.. very sturdy and well made

Bought this watch in Jan 2, 2025. Great looking and worked great. Then on Feb 20 I wound the watch but it did not start. It was not a costly watch but should have lasted more then a few weeks.
