Not sure why all of the 1 star ratings. This Headset/Record Adapter does what it's advertised to do: hear and record any audio source into a separate audio recorder.You do need your own separate recorder, however. The three band 3.5mm plug is inserted into any source (cell phone, laptop audio out) and the two band 3.5mm plug is inserted into the recorder. Perhaps the reason people are experiencing sound problems is that they are plugging the three band 3.5mm plug into the recorder. Only the 2 band plug (the mono one, not the stereo one) is to be plugged into the recorder.Anyway, I'm very happy with its performance, and the actual sound quality is excellent.

If there was an option to give 0 stars, ...
If there was an option to give 0 stars, I would have given it. This thing dies NOT work at all. I tried it on dofferent phones and voice recorders and all you hear on the recording is noise and nothing else. Don't bother with it.

Complete waste of $
Junk. The cheap, unshielded wire just picks up all kinds of static and chatter. Bought it to record interviews for transcription, but it produces so much noise it's useless.
