Salomon Pioneer LT Access Men's Helmet Ski Snowboard, Safety and comfort, Optimal comfort, A sporty, performance inspired look

Finding a ski helmet that actually fits a larger head can be a real challenge, but the Salomon Pioneer LT Access in the XL size has been a total game changer for my husband. His head measures 64cm, and we spent ages traipsing around various shops only to find that most brands simply don't cater for that size, or if they do, they feel incredibly tight and restrictive. This helmet, however, fits him perfectly and he says it is easily the most comfortable one he has tried on. The internal padding is soft and doesn't create those annoying pressure points, and the custom dial at the back allows him to tweak the fit so it feels secure without being squashed. It is surprisingly lightweight too, so it doesn't feel like a burden even after a full day on the slopes. We were also really impressed with the price; similar helmets in physical stores were easily double what we paid for this one, which makes the quality even more impressive. The ear pads are well-designed so his hearing isn't muffled, and it integrates seamlessly with his goggles without leaving a massive gap on his forehead. It is a relief to finally find a piece of safety gear that accommodates a larger head size so well while still looking sleek and staying within a sensible budget. If you have struggled to find a helmet that doesn't feel like a vice, this model is definitely worth a look.

Very lightweight and comfy. Good quality. The only caveat is that you would need to carefully select the goggles to match the frontal profile of the helmet. For example, the profile of the helmet is quite flat, whilst my Oakley’s goggles are more rounded, so visually don’t match. It’s not a massive issue though, just might be aesthetically annoying.

Although when it first arrived it felt like it was to small having used it now skiing for a week it’s a perfect fit and very comfortable.

I always have trouble finding a helmet to fit on the engorged melon that is my head. So thank you for making this. Its fits really well, and I can confirm that it fit on 63cm - 64cm head. . . . top job, lovely looking helmet. For a little more than it costs to rent one. Although TBH better to rent for sake of planet if you can . . . carbon footprint of this helmet is probably about 8kg/CO2e. Salomon have you considered but carbon footprints on ski gear, or is that all a bit Patagonia for you guys. I know a really good company to work with (southwest-environmental.co.uk) for that sort of thing ;-)

Arrived quickly and clearly the helmet is really good quality. It is ridiculously light but is as solid as my old helmet. Super chuffed with the purchase.
