Useful book for the intermediate and advanced guitarists
Good comprehensive and thorough book advising on techniques required to reach the speeds needed to play fast with fluidity and most importantly of all clearly and accurately. I’ll be working my way through this book step by step practicing an exercise from each of the three books every day. I have one suggestion for the author and editor. It would be helpful to include the performance speeds in each example which we can use as a target to aim for and judge our current ability.

Dedicated practice following this method will help your speed
I've been playing guitar for a long while, but mostly blues, rock, funk, and punk. The faster metal stuff always seemed impossible. This book does a pretty good job of breaking down basic mechanics and strategies in a way that I never thought of them before. You definitely want to look elsewhere for music theory, rhythmic interest, and great sounding licks . . . but overall this is a worthwhile collection of practice methods and a good way of re-thinking and tweaking your approach to very fast guitar parts.

The best book to study if you want to shred!
One of the best books I have used on learning how to shred. It clearly tells you about pick orientation and how it affects speed while moving across the strings at a fast pace. After learning how to shred I moved on to sweep picking. This is also one of the best sweep picking books out there with a clear step by step guide. It gets you to sweep 2 strings first then 3 4, 5 and finally 6 strings. Plus it tells you how to hold your pick for sweep picking.I wish I had this book when I started out learning how to shred, it would have saved me a lot of time. His youtube videos also helps a lot in visualizing the techniques.
