I like these bags. I’d first bought them at a discount grocery store and they weren’t available again. I’m glad I found them on Amazon.They open easily. The bags seem to have 2 layers in the design and I thought they were too thin to work well but I was wrong. They’re strong.At first, I had not seen gray trash bags and was used to white ones in the kitchen. Yet who cares the color? They’re inside a trash container! They are the perfect kitchen trash bag size and fit easily in the trashcan. They don’t slip down inside and hold well around the top. No longer do I have to use the DIY strap I made to secure the bag so it doesn’t fall off the edges and down inside. I haven’t had them rip but I’m sure eventually something would! They have that flex strength and truly are good bags, in my opinion. I hope they continue to be available.

I had this item on Subscribe and Save until recently. The bags stretch quite well as advertised; I’ve had no problems there. The only issue is that the bags produce a smell that I can’t explain. They do have a fresh scent to them, but that’s not what I’m talking about. This is a foul smell that results after simply putting a bag in your trash can.I tested the smell by thoroughly cleaning my trash can, inside and out. It wasn’t filthy by any stretch of the imagination, so there wasn’t much to clean, but I still did it anyway just to rule out any bacteria that might have been causing the odor. I then smelled my trash can periodically for two days with no bag in it. There was no smell. Then, I put a trash bag inside my trash can, and didn’t throw anything away, again checking the smell every few hours. It smelled fine until I went to sleep, about 10 hours in. It wasn’t until I woke up the next day, about 18 hours after installing the trash bag, that I noticed the bad smell. It's not like I have to stick my nose into the trash can to smell it, the odor wafts out even if the trash can is only open for a moment.I don’t have any explanation for the smell, and I haven’t noticed this before with any other trash bag. I don't even normally smell anything most of the time, and have always considered myself to have an inferior sense of smell, so it's weird for me to smell this item from several feet away. Mysteriously, I’ve been using the bags since Nov 2022, but it wasn’t until a reorder in Dec 2023 that I first noticed the smell. Did Glad change the formula for the fresh scent? I have no idea. All I know is that I’m not going to buy any more scented trash bags.
