Great, fast lunch or hot dog topper. Half a bag is keto friendly
This stuff is great. It's true that the taste is bland, but that just means it needs added salt and spice. But that's fine with me. I would much rather it be not salty enough than too salty (like most canned chili is). You can salt this to your taste. I like my chili super-spicy, so I'm always gonna be adding hot sauce to this anyway. Something to note is that the serving size is one whole bag, which is a pound! So if you only eat half the bag, then this is keto-friendly. The only keto-friendly prepared chili that I've been able to find. I warm up half the bag, then make a couple of hot dogs (with some keto-friendly buns) and put this chili and some cheese on top, and still have some chili left over to top off my tummy. The kind of chili-cheese dog that I've been missing! Not cheap, but worth the price just for the sake of a tasty, convenient, healthy meal.

A great way to start a big pot of chili!
I love this chili and have purchased it many times. But I use it as a starter rather than as a stand alone meal. Beginning with sautéed onion, chopped poblanos and jalapeños, whole peeled tomatoes, and lots of black beans, I add beer and several packs to create a big pot of chili that I serve over elbow macaroni and top with shredded cheese and tortilla chips. I can serve 16 people this way using only 6 packs, and everyone feels well-fed and satisfied. I always take a case or two when we visit our remote cabin where it’s not so easy to find high quality grass-fed beef.

Not the best or worst chilli
I like thick spicy kind of hot chilli with lots of meat. This was more of a tomato flavor with some pepper over tones. The meat content was good enough but the flavor didn't impress me. Note my favorite chilli is scroll shelbies chilli mix. Use this as a calibration for my taste.

Depends what you are looking for in a bagged chili
High level this is pretty good. Quality ingredients that taste good and heats up quickly. Compared to some of the better chili I've had this is lacking in flavor and spice and its pretty tomato heavy IMO. Compared to any kind of soup or chili that comes in a can/is shelf stable this is very very good. In terms of convenience and something that can be heated up quickly without a lot of carbs or additives (most soups) this gets high marks but it is pretty expensive for what you get and the chili itself is a little bland.

Incredible chili and massive protein!
I keep browned hamburger frozen in small portions in my freezer which makes it super easy to add some to this chili. I top that with steamed rice and eat this weekly. What an incredible meal - a bag lasts me 3 or more meals of aforementioned combo. Love that it’s not too salty as others have mentioned and I don’t find the price offensive whatsoever- take a look at bagged meals/soups in Cabelas. Almost double the price. This is completely in line in my opinion for price. Lastly, I couldn’t be more grateful they kept the chili and kidney beans out of this mix! I’ve spread the word to so many of this delicious food; thank you to the intelligent people who mastered this delightful entree!

Sour taste
I bought this for our emergency go bags without trying the product first. We ate the chili when the product was at the end of its shelf life and was surprised by the taste of the chili. It is so sour. I read the ingredient list and the second and third ingredients are diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Both contain citric acid and results in an overwhelming sour taste. I diluted it with cans of beans, herbs, salt and powdered porcini mushrooms and topped it with crackers and cheese to cut the sour taste and still the sour flavor persists. We will not but this product again. I don't know what I would name this product but beef chili certainly would not cross my mind. In a blind taste test I think the only thing I would be able to recognize is it tastes like sour lemons or unsweetened lemonade.

Rich flavor alone & holds up to additions
Love the rich chili flavor and spices. We often use this like a base and add various proteins & veggies sto get multiple servings. We do this with many of the True Primal soups. All the styles work as a great base and add what you want! Great value and highly recommend this product.

High quality ingredients, but much too sour
I have mixed feelings about the chili. I like that it is no-bean chili and there is a generous amount of meat. Also you can tell it has quality ingredients and not all the highly-processed industrial non-food ingredients that most other shelf-stable food has. Unfortunately this chili is strongly acidic and sour. They must use high acid tomatoes or paste, and on top of that I see they also add citric acid. This makes it far too sour for me. The chili is so strongly acidic that the only way I could finish the case was to add generous amounts of sour cream and cheese. I prefer the balance that almost all other chili makers have.
