Great book ; but actually amalgamated from different old concepts on storytelling and screen play writing, put together. But, very useful & smart.

Basi molto chiare sulla sceneggiatura, strutturate in maniera sintetica e utile. In inglese, ma non guasta anche per migliorare la propria terminologia tecnica nell'ambito specifico.

This is not your average how-to-write-a-story book, as it goes much deeper into the matter. Even though this book is mainly for screenwriters, as a novelist, I got many valuable insights into plot structure, characters and the reasons why I love to write. If you are open to a deeper dive into the function and psychology behind stories, you will find this book a useful source of inspiration. If you are looking for a simple step by step guide on screenwriting instead, you can skip this book.

John Yorke summarises a range of structural elements and uses relatable examples. Handy for any creative writing project (film, television, novel). Whether you're writing commercial or literary fiction, Yorke's analysis is useful as it helps the writer to think about aspects of narrative in new ways, even as it claims to draw on structural patterns that are timeless.
