Only the turtle moves forward reliable.The whale/dolphin does nothing but bob up and down.Fish sorta moves forward.The gator goes backwards or sideways.

Not the best movers
Our 4 1/2 year old plays with these in her pool and she likes them but they really aren't the best movers. You can wind them up and the mechanics work but they just don't have much movement in the water.
