Don't forget to order 2 sizes down in a ballet shoe
I took ballet for 15 years when I was young and had always had Bloch ballet shoes. I'm back in ballet as an adult and decided to buy Capezio shoes -- what a mistake! They were beyond terrible with the toes tight and narrow and the rest of the shoe an awkward fit. I bought these Bloch in black which I love -- it's a matte black. I wear a 9.5 normal in a street shoe, so I ordered 7.5 normal in this ballet shoe -- be aware that you have to select WIDE and it will appear as "Normal" width. If you select just a numerical size, it will be a narrow. Once I figured that out, I have a perfect fit! The toe portion is not too narrow; the strap is at a perfect location, and the width was perfect after pulling the adjustable tie. This shoe has a full sole on the bottom which is important to me in doing releves -- the split sole bottom in the Capezio was awful -- I felt I was balancing on a coin stuck to the bottom of my shoe. These are leather soles inside and out with brush cotton sides on the inside. I'm sure these will last decades -- just like my last pair. Bloch has kept its excellent quality over the years, so don't waste your time looking at a different brand.

Great grounding shoes!
I donโt use these for dancing but as grounding shoes. They are absolutely wonderful for that and a better price than traditional grounding shoes. I have fairly narrow feet but I donโt usually order narrow shoes so I just ordered my size, regular width. Honestly I could have gone with the narrow but I can just pull the ties tightly and they shape right up to my foot.

Wonderful!
I love these shoes! Using for earthing/grounding. Way cheaper than leather soled moccasins and much cuter as well.

Very nice quality !
Based on other reviews I ordered 2 sizes down . My daughter is a 6-6.5 in womans, I ordered a 4.5B. They were still large , about a 1/2 inch , the 4 would have been perfect ( I think ). I wonโt be exchanging them as my daughter loves them and wants to wear them to class tomorrow , I explained they will stretch and become a little bigger . She said they are super comfy and she will grow into them. For a 45 min ballet class once a week they should be fine. They are gorgeous shoes , great quality- Very pleased . Pictures donโt do them justice.

Good ballet shoe for a casual beginner
I'm taking a ballet class for college PE credit. My teacher suggested to go into a store to get fitted properly but said online was acceptable if you wanted to read the charts and try your luck. I read lots of reviews and saw that you should go down at least two sizes from your street shoe, but I decided to read the length in centimeters instead. I picked a 3D because my feet are wide, and I picked the length in cm that was the exact length of my own foot. My teacher said that you need them snug and that leather shoes (opposed to the canvas ones) will stretch. To be honest the first class these shoes pinched my toes A LOT and I was debating ordering another pair a half size up. But by the second class they felt WAY more comfortable and I feel I chose the right size. So my advice is pick by centimeter length, choose your width, and give them time to break in.

Highly recommended so far
They appear to be fairly good ballet shoes, at a good price. I wear a 9.5B. The 7.5 fits perfectly, like a glove, no space. No arch support, of course. The ties work fine. Elastic strap is pre-sewed on (I often don't put on the straps, just walk on them).I did ballet for years but wear the shoes now for house shoes, prefer their barefoot feeling. I read recently that arch supports weaken arches. True or not, I don't know, but despite years of wearing shoes with no support, I've never had foot problems, except flip-flops/thong-type shoes damaged a nerve and caused arthritis in my 2nd toe.Ballet slippers can be amazingly durable. I spent a month sightseeing in London where sidewalks tend to eat up shoes. My new street shoes made such blisters that I wore ballet slippers for the entire month, outside, except in wet weather, walking miles each day (maybe Capezios, but I buy either brand). I don't know how this particular style will hold up, but I usually throw out my ballet shoes because they're too dirty, not worn out. These look pretty much like my previous shoes. Probably not as well-made and durable as more expensive styles, but they seem fine for most dance classes or other wear. So, highly recommended based on one day's wearing. Durability of this particular pair, to be discovered.

There is room to grow and we could go down a half size but these will work great. Hope this helps someone
My 7yr old is right in the middle of Big Kid size and women's etc. She wears a 2.5 in big kids street shoe so I bought her a 3B in women's. There is room to grow and we could go down a half size but these will work great. Hope this helps someone!

Pli'e read before you pirouette
I ordered these slippers because I wanted some shoes comfortable enough to work out in. I have taken ballet and modern jazz dance classes and I have gotten use to a slipper over a tennis shoe for the gym since I do calf extensions and floor stretches which cannot be done in tennis shoes. These are also great if you put a weight cuff around your ankle. So I did my research and made a decision for Bloch. They are of good value for the price. I like a larger sole but these are ample and typical for a ballet slipper as you want to really "feel" the balance of a jote'or an arabesque hop. I followed eveybody else's advice and ordered as follows: Womens 10B to a Bloch 8C. They fit like a glove. Don't be apprehensive about going down the two sizes and I personally would recommend if you are a full B width to go for a C width the reason being is that you really need to keep the bottom sole in mind and therefore should not wait for the upper to stretch. What happens here is that the soles are constructed for a perfect balance and if your feet are wider than the peefect fit and they need to stretch then the dynamics of balance are compromised. So read the other reviews and I know you will be extremely happy with your purchase like I am.

Always too long, and not wide enough
I ordered a D wide but got a C medium width. I cut the leather of the vamp about a half inch or 3/4 of an inch without hurting the draw string so that the top so my foot didn't hurt. Just cut it with a scissor. It didn't further rip or tear more even when I tugged on it which is good. These shoes are always way too tight - and then too long. Same story, might be my Grecian feet. But I wasn't returning them or buying more. The cut in the top of the vamp towards the toes made it fit fine. Didn't hurt the usage of them, just incase you have this issue too. Not just bloch, most soft shoes are too tight for me across the knuckles of the feet and then too long as well in the big toe. In every other, way a good shoe.

Didn't get what I ordered
Not what inordered has two bands across the instep, I ordered black also, but size was correct, and since I bought them just for indoor use, I felt it was fine. Better than slippers in my opinion, but I like the barefoot style, so if you like padding foe that reason nope. Gave it less stars coz 75% is not what I ordered. I forgot to mention that my feet are normally 8.5 to 9, so I ordered size 7.5 and it's a perfect fit and they fit rather narrow, but in time it will fit as it is leather

The quality is really good, it is made out of leather which you can easily clean if you have to. The size ran a bit bigger. My usual size is 7.5 - 8 for regular shoes and as per other reviews I ended ordering a 6. Although it fitted and I have no problems using it for our ballet class, I feel like I could have gone a bit smaller, maybe a 5 or 5.5 for a nice snug fit. But overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Perfect Ballet Shoes!
These shoes were PERFECT. I took the advice of other reviews and sized 2 sizes down from my street shoe size. Normally in flats I wear a 7.5-8 in street shoes; I ordered a size 6 in these ballet shoes as I didn't want them too tight. At first I worried they were a little big (I probably could have gone to a 5.5), but after dancing in them with tights I believe I made the right choice. I have always had issues with dance shoes pinching in the toe box, and so having a little bit of extra room there was great. If you want them to fit perfectly flush against your foot, SIZE DOWN. They will stretch, but not length-wise, so if you have issues with pinched toes using the 2-sizes-down rule should work.

Perfect!
These ballet slippers are exactly the same as the ones I purchased many years ago when taking an adult ballet class. I thought they would be a cheap imitation, as the price was so reasonable, but they are leather, comfortable, with flexible soles and exactly what I was hoping to receive. I immediately bought another pair in white, although I think the medium width fits my foot better than the narrow, which is all I could find in white. If you are looking for something casual and comfy to wear around the house, or perhaps to dance in, these shoes are a great buy! No complaints at all!
