Works great
Easy to use. Will charge a completely dead battery. This is the second one I have had. First one I was charging my boat battery when it rained. They are not made to leave in rain.

The perfect charger for my uses
I bought this to replace a very old charger with no intelligence. While the old would charge battery's it would just keep charging them and not stop when the battery was full. So with this charger I can just leave the charger running and not worry about overcharging. The auto amp mode is nice as it will decide how much current it will use.It is a nice compact size and very light and pretty quiet compared to my old one would would loudly hum while charging. This one is so quiet that once it finishes charging the display goes off but then it enters pulse maintenance mode where is charges as needed which is great. It is not off just quietly monitoring and charging the battery. It is also about half the size of my old charger and weighs nothing. It has Velcro to keep the charging cables tied up when not in use.Clamp are not weak and appear well made and makes a good solid connection to the battery terminals.About the only thing I can say is once it goes into charge maintenance known as pulse it will not notice the battery is dropping in voltage. Say you want to run your vehicle in accessory mode to say use the wifi in the vehicle. Your battery will get drained till dead as it will be in maintenance mode which will only keep it topped off and not charge the battery so accessory will use more current then can be made up for.

OK, but not as good as I had hoped for
I have a number of older batteries (4 AGM group 24, 1 standard group 24 and 2 standard group 27), each of them holding between 12.5 and 12.6 volts after charging. I was hoping I would be able to use this charger's repair feature to restore them to a better condition, allowing them to charge and hold at 12.7 volts. The AGMs will charge up to 12.8 but not hold there, even after using the "repair" cycle. The AGMs finish the repair cycle in about 30 minutes and in an hour drop back to 12.5 voltage. The standard batteries go for more than 10 hours and still do not complete the cycle. One standard charged up to 12.9 then dropped back to 12.6. Another charged up to 12.8 and has dropped to 12.7. Currently charging the 3rd standard, the group 24.This charger is about half the size of my old Schumacher charger and maybe 1/3 the weight. The Schumacher still does a good job but has no setting for AGM batteries. The clamps for the Ampeak are generous, better than I've seen on any other chargers I've owned. The cooling fan is somewhat noisy but doesn't kick in until maybe after an hour or so of charging. It's an OK charger, hope it lasts like the Schumacher has. It will be easier to carry around with me because of the ligher weight.
