Great to reduce noise
Great to reduce howling noise on a 2024 Mazda 3 hatchback with a roof rack. It doesn’t make it much quieter, but it’s a less noticeable sound. It looks good, but it’s kinda expensive for what you get. It’s basically a piece of black plexiglass with some plastic straps. The screws aren’t even real screws they’re just plastic push pins. However, I like that it comes with little clear plastic stickers to protect the paint.

Reduced wind noise drastically
Did what it said it would do. Reduced wind noise by about 80-90%. I no longer notice it and don’t have to listen to my radio loud anymore to drown out the whistle! Plus, it also looks great. Adds a nice touch to my car. Overall would recommend this to anyone looking to reduce wind noise and add a nice look to you car!

I Have A Few Things To Add About This Windsheild/Fairing
Most important thing is fitment. Watched a few YouTube videos and read many reviews here about the proper sizing, some I believe were from the manufacturer, Yakima. Saying, to simply measure between the towers to get a proper fit. Simple enough. Most of the info I gathered had the ends of the windshield to the inside of the vertical tower and some had the ends of the windshield covering the vertical tower. So I elected to measure a few inches inside and came up with 46" being the best fit. Once I received it and set it up without hard clamping it, I notice the two center legs of the windshield were half on and half off a raised reinforcement flute atop of my Jeep Wrangler roof. (See Images) Not good. Called Yakima and after sending several images and back and forth e-mails, they tell me I have the wrong fairing and I needed a 40". That seemed too short to me and I asked them what the spacing of the legs were, they could not tell me. So I had to modify the windshield (notching and drilling) to move the two inner legs a inch and a quarter in so the legs would lay flat in the roof. But now the arc of the windshield held those two legs up a quarter inch, so I had to add a thick 3M sponge tape to make up that distance. Now it should be fine. If I were to purchase again and my roof had any flutes, bumps, panel seems or anything else that would prevent one of these legs to not sit properly, I would find out the spacing of these legs (depending of the size of the windshield). For me, the windshield definitely stopped my ski rack from whistling. Did not eliminate too much of the blast noise the entire rack system makes. I would buy again in my circumstance. The spacing of my 46" wide windshield? 4 legs, spaced 12" apart.

Solid windfairing.
This is a nice windfairing. The mounts are not universal and do not fit some non-OEM roof rack rails. This requires tightening them down tighter than recommended. Also requires pushing them down hard onto the roof to avoid catching air underneath and vibration of the fairing (beating the roof/sunroof).Functionally, it works as designed. When flush to the roof, it stays in place and cuts down wind noise on the roof rack about 50-70% at speeds above 50. Still a bit of wind noise above 75.

Looks great, works as intended, easy install
The Yakima WindFairer is a great addition to any roof rack system, helping to reduce wind noise and improve aerodynamics while driving. It’s easy to install and fits most crossbars, making it a convenient upgrade for those who frequently use roof-mounted cargo carriers, bike racks, or kayak mounts. The sleek design not only enhances the look of your vehicle but also helps with fuel efficiency by minimizing drag. Made from durable materials, it holds up well against the elements and provides a quieter, smoother ride. For anyone looking to cut down on wind noise and improve their roof rack setup, the Yakima WindFairer is a solid choice.

Tricked it was nee! 😡
The media could not be loaded. Received. Seems this item was used and returned. I bought BRAND NEW this is worst than USED. It got a lot of scratches. I thought it was just dirt or something. I tried to clean it but it’s still there.

Looks nice and does the job
I bought it for looks tbh, but it also stopped the whistling I heard when I was driving with just the Yakima crossbars installed on my vehicle.
