Perfect for peace of mind with a toddler
This was perfect for our 30lb, 3yr old (who still fits in 2T clothes). Kept him upright & gave us peace of mind without holding him. The under strap was extra reassurance & was overall very easy to get on/off.

Pretty cool to use when learning to swim!
I love all of SwimSchool’s products! My son has used their floaties since he was about 24 lbs. We have one of their life jackets, which fits very similarly to this one. The difference with this is the removable pads, which I’ll be leaving in until he’s more confident in the water (still looking for swim lessons). For reference: he’s 3, weighs 36 lbs, and wears mostly 3T & some 4T tops. This fits him well with room to grow. It might be too big if your kiddo is wearing 2T or smaller. I’ll probably put him in his life jacket most of the time, but this will come in handy as he learns to swim better. UPDATE: I never even realized this until he pointed it out…. The back is a turtle shell! He likes to pretend he’s a sea turtle when it’s on. One thing I’ve noticed (with a lot of life jacket style vests) is that it rises up to his chin as he wears it in the water. It *looks* uncomfortable, but he hasn’t complained at all! I’ve tightened all the straps, including the crotch safety strap. He’s autistic and has sensory issues, so the fact he loves wearing it is awesome!! Hope this helps! 🏊🏼♂️

Toddler floaty
Our family has loved this floaty. My son could move freely around the pool and looked very relaxed. It connect from in between their legs and is very safe. Super easy to blow up I literally can do it by mouth. Great purchase!

After many failed floaties, this one worked!
Only float that works for our chunky water loving boy. Easy to take on and off. Made pool day fun for kiddo and parents.

Now that's fine to an extent
I used these years ago, before puddle jumpers came out. I run a daycare and even though we have a ratio of one adult to two or three children when we go in the pool, you can't be too careful with kids and water. We put their flotation devices on before we even unlock the pool gate. I currently have one overly adventurous 21 month old with no fear. Because of his antics in the water, when in the puddle jumper his face often went into the water. Now that's fine to an extent, but toddlers swallow water and too much can be dangerous. I remembered that this product keeps the child's head higher up, further from the water surface. It seems to be working. The Puddle Jumper product is a Coast Guard approved flotation device. The Tot Trainer is NOT. It is possible for a child to end up upside down, head in the water, so careful supervision is essential. Well it always is in the water, it's just a good idea to be aware of this possibility. We always stay close. The current product is different from the old versions. The older ones had a thicker rubber inner-tube like design. It had to be inflated with a bicycle pump and wouldn't deflate even if the cap was removed. The ring on this one is made of a more typical inflatable plastic and you blow it up with your mouth on a standard plastic valve. It's designed with a double ring so there are two inflators valves. I assume the double ring provides extra flotation, and perhaps acts as a backup if one fails? However it is definitely more easily punctured and it remains to be seen if it will last as long as the old material. I've always wished the cover zipped or velcroed off the ring, so that the ring alone could be replaced. Even with the old style the fabric outlasted the rubber. I do keep it out by the pool for convenience but I place it on a chair and drape a towel over the chair to keep it out of direct sunlight. I like the crotch strap addition.

Perfect for my petite 2 year old
Used in the pool for my 2 year old this summer. She weighed less than 25 pounds so not a lot of options. She did very well with it and had a lot of fun. She had room in it and I'd say she could wear it for another year as well. We found it easy to use and very durable holding up to a 2 year old well.
