Really pleased and surprised by the Watermelon Garnier Fructis Plumping Treat shampoo and conditioner so much I'm doing a rare review.What to know -Scent: The shampoo watermelon scent is mild, refreshing, more like real watermelon (light, watery) than like watermelon lip balm scent, lotion, candy, gum, candle scent. It's lovely but very very very light so it's not going to fill your shower with watermelon scent if that's what you want. It's faint but still smells wonderful and was pleasant. The conditioner has no detectable scent for me, I wish it did.Texture: The shampoo is a thicker gel that spread and lathered easily, easy and quick. The conditioner is a thick lotion type that is almost more like a paste consistency. I did not think it would detangle but it did. It's not silky or super soft in your hands or on your hair however it's very effective, more on that in a moment.Bottles- Easy to flip the cap and dispense the product. I wish they were bigger with more product. I think I will go through the conditioner faster than the shampoo.My hair: This set is marketed toward fine hair which I don't have. My hair is thicker, it's course, and curly and I need detangling. I got this set on a whim because I have wanted new shampoo + conditioner that is silicone-free but does have sls in it, and a great scent. There are versions with different scents (coconut, aloe, avocado etc) for other hair conditions but I wanted watermelon. (Note- I know that many people can use silicones and do well, there are different kinds, I don't dislike them in skin care, I don't follow cgm or anything, it's not "bad", not demonizing silicone I just personally find my hair is noticeably better (moisturized) when I skip it. I DO prefer sls to sulfate-free because sls, for me, cleans best and it doesn't bother me. I have tried many sls-free shampoos for years and they just don't clean well for me so I don't bother with them anymore.)I did not think the conditioner would detangle because it felt more like a thick pasty lotion that would not smooth and undo knots but it did! Normally when I've tried a conditioner with this kind of texture it doesn't work, it's frustrating, and I have to step out of the shower and grab another conditioner and wide tooth comb to fix it. This DID detangle it's just not that soft or really creamy or slippery (no silicone) as you use it so it doesn't seem conditioning but it is. This actually worked faster and more easily than most conditioners I've used in recent years with the exception of Cantu's hydrating conditioner which is my favorite. I applied it, then applied more so I think I used double the normal amount. My hair was overdue for washing so that's why I used more. When I wash it tomorrow I will use one dose/one small handful and see how it goes. If your hair is curly and longer than shoulder length you might go through the conditioner faster.It was overall refreshing.Result:My hair felt GOOD after. I towel dried it and tied it back. Now, next day, it's completely dry and I'm floored by how soft it is. It's visibly smoother, very very very soft, clean, comfortable scalp, detangled, and should be easy to manage today. I am VERY happy with the shower experience and the results. I am not putting any styling products in.I hope this does not get discontinued. I want to try the aloe and the coconut versions. I wish they did a peach or rose water version too. I wish they were a little more strongly scented (especially the conditioner) but it works so effectively it's ok. I'm tempted to stock up when I can afford it. I am looking forward to using it again tomorrow partly because of the result and partly because it's so fast and pleasant and I try to take quick short showers.Highly recommend it just lower your expectations for a strong scent, and don't be afraid to try if you have wavy or curly hair.

I have been browsing the market for something affordable, natural, but effective for my tragically fine hair.I love the smell of watermelon this product conveys, its sweet fruity and reminiscent of melon agua fresca.I was surprised how plump my hair looked and felt, it covered my scalp and gave a nice bounce to my locks.The price is definitely worth it, I was previously using redken but I stopped using it because of several ingredients like MDM Hydantonin parabens and Quarterim-15, 35 that cause hair loss.Pro-tip: check your hair products for any parabens, Quarterim, MDM Hydantonin, or any formaldehyde releasers these ingredients have caused hair loss in many people including myself.This product has none of those thankfully.

This is the first time in YEARS I've attempted one of their products again. I'm glad. This is the first shampoo I have tried that I have actually liked that is all ZERO'S. Leaves my hair clean and refreshed, and the conditioner is great! 4 stars only bc I did not notice any plumping to my very flat hair.

Omg this shampoo and conditioner smells AMAZING. Its a strong candied watermelon scent that lasts on the hair. Hair felt and looked more volumized. I love how easy it is to read the ingredients list and know what each ingredient is and what it does. More companies should do that. I just wish they had large sizes of these available. Already repurchased back ups!

The product did not have a seal on it, it was moisturizing, the shampoo smells better than the conditioner. My hair was left shiny and moisturizing. I hate when my products come without a seal, means it could’ve been used or tampered or filled with fake product. Who knows. It’s a good deal if you need cheap shampoo and conditioner. Worked for me but will probably not purchase again since I like pureology the best it’s just so expensive

The shampoo and conditioner makes my hair so soft. I love the smell of the shampoo. I wish the conditioner smelled the same. I will be buying it again.

There is nothing that compares to this scent. The watermelon scent is so fruity and my hair never looks dry or unhealthy. I have been using this product for like two years and I highly recommend.

Gpt those to enjoy a nice smell when I wash my hair more than anything. You can only recognize the watermelon in the shampoo, but it smells artificial. The conditioner has a weird smell to it altogether, very different from the shampoo. After a couple of weeks, I noticed those dry my hair and that's probably why the volume is actually lost way faster than with other products. I will be throwing those out before using them up, not worth the money.
