Review: Best quality/affordable knife set I've come across - I purchased this knife as a gift for my dad for his recent birthday. While he's a good home cook, it's been years since he had a new chef's knife and he needed something like this. I have personally bought and used two Dalstrong knife's myself - both of which are still in my kitchen. I have a super long 14-16 inch butcher's knife from this same "gladiator" series and have had it for 4 or 5 years now. Still sharp, still effective. I have a 9.5 inch chef's knife from their Valhalla series for almost 2.5 years now. It's sharp. How do I know? Because 3 months or less after I bought it, I took a chunk of my left index finger off while dozing off, staring out the kitchen window (while chopping). Thankfully I just took flesh/skin and not bone lol. Great blades. My dad loves this knife so far.

UPDATE: This knife has withstood the test of time. I bought this knife in 2016 and it is still a daily workhorse in my kitchen. I only wish I had more Dalstrong knives. The Shogun series looks amazing. Would do anything to own a set but the knives are getting pricey - understandably so though. They are very well made. Stop looking. You can’t go wrong with Dalstrong! Hey look I made a rhyme! You’re welcome. The Dalstrong Gladiator chef knife cuts as good as it looks. If you are looking to upgrade your knife for a true kitchen workhorse, look no further. LIKE: - Light as a feather, yet its sharpness allows for it to power through the toughest root vegetables with ease - Its ergonomic design reduces fatigue - Tall blade for ample knuckle clearance - Solid construction - full tang, triple riveted.
