15 natural deodorants later and I've finally found The One
As a previous wearer of clinical strength deodorant in the summer (regular the rest of the year), I have tried 15 (yes, FIFTEEN) different brands of natural deodorant ranging from Schmidt's to Pit Paste (Levels 1 and 2) to Alaffia to even highly rated products on Etsy, among very many. I have tried with baking soda and without baking soda, with fragrance and without fragrance, in a jar or in a stick. When I was most fed up I went back to my old trusty Dove and then found even that after a few months away from the conventional brands, even that had started to irritate me!Everything I tried caused problems-- darkened skin and itchy rashes with baking soda products, funk to no end with baking soda free products, you name it. And then I discovered this gem. Stick based natural deodorant from Schmidt's in Lavender scent. While it doesn't get through a full day of work AND a night sweating in bed (our room can get piping hot some nights), it DOES get me through a full day of work which is nothing short of a miracle. While it doesn't get through a full day of work AND a sweaty workout afterwards, it DOES get me through a full day of work which again is nothing short of a miracle. If you're sensing a pattern here, you're not wrong. This stick is strong and thickly pasted and scented enough for a full 12 hour day out of the house on a normal routine. BUT in the evening if you're headed to the gym or want to be floral fresh through the night or even just if it's been a particularly long and hot day, I do recommend another swipe-eroo! That said, if you're like me and would rather nix the aluminum and excess chemicals and just lightly re-apply after work if needed, then this is the right stick for you. The lavender scent is strong yet not overpowering once the deodorant is on and it gives good solid protection after wetness. No, it doesn't stop it in its tracks, but it definitely does more than just mask the musk.Thank you, Schmidt's! A stick that does just what a deodorant should-- keep the funk at bay and the chemicals away. I'm a happy camper.

Lavender is not for me
Smells lovely (like lavender) and worked pretty well. I did have to reapply on my workout days, but I don't find that unreasonable. However it DID make me break out. Not in the big horrible rash some folks are having, but in several painful zits in my underarms and nearby. I've never had this problem before and they started subsiding as soon as I stopped using it, so I'm having to return it, unfortunately.I may try a different scent to see if I was reacting to the base product or the essential oils, because I really do want this to work.

The Only Effective Natural Deodorant
I love this deodorant and have been purchasing it for years. The pros: no cancer-causing chemicals, smells great, does not stain clothes like other natural deodorants, super easy to apply compared to the old packaging style, is the ONLY effective natural deodorant I have ever usedThe cons: this will melt very easily so do not leave in warm places, it is a bit messy and I often have to wipe the outside of the stick because of excess deodorant spilling over the edge, I once received a stick that had melted so it came to me completely crumbled and unusableI still love this deodorant and it's the only kind I will use. Highly recommended!

I feel like the smelly kid
For the first time in my life, at 30, I feel like the smelly kid. I've never had issues with excessive body odor, even when I tried those voodoo magic deodorant crystals (which worked much better than Schmidt's). This deodorant, however, only keeps the stink at bay for half the day before it packs up its bags and phones it in. Even worse is if you try to reapply it without taking a full shower--you'd be lucky if you got another hour or two out of the second layer, and at that point it's such a sticky, cakey mess that it isn't even worth it.

Ok, but with a few caveats
I really like this product. I am allergic to a lot of deodorants and this has not triggered any reaction. It does stain the clothes and I've noticed it clumps when I sweat. I've been using Schmidt's for years and noticed that when you open a new container, the thread that pushes the deodorant up is hard to maneuver. They do get stuck and as it reaches the end it falls out. Don't care for that, the staining and the clumping, but this is the only deodorant I can use.
