We've only had this for a few months, so fingers crossed at this point that it does not develop problems long term as others have reported. Otherwise, it's worked perfectly for our needs. Nice to have something that you charge, turn on, and it just works.As background, we use it for our Kiwanis weekly meetings. We meet in a restaurant that has a bar on the other side of a railing with no wall. The restaurant area is probably around 1600 sp ft and the bar is maybe around 1000 sq ft. I mention the bar because while we meet at 7:30am in the restaurant portion, others are often in the bar having conversations (it's all part of a golf course clubhouse). Sometimes those other groups can be noisy. Additionally, some of our older members are hard of hearing. We point the speaker away from the bar, at the back of the room so it helps us hear our presenters without disturbing the folks in the bar.Another test will come next March when we hold our pancake breakfast. This is held in a middle school auditorium. Of course lots of folks sitting around the room chatting. We'll see how well it works in that situation. Fingers crossed, but won't hold my breath.Just to reiterate, so far this unit has been just what the doctor ordered.

I purchased this portable PA system recently and have used it a couple times now for monthly meetings of our small nonprofit group - usually 25 people or so in a room that is around 800 SF in area. I put the speaker/box at the back of the group facing the front. Many of our group members are of an age that they don't hear so well anymore. This PA system helps a lot. I would give it 5 stars, but we noticed the microphone cuts out on occasion. I think its because the battery doesn't fit tightly enough, which could likely be remedied by a small piece of foam in the battery case.

I am a third grade teacher and always struggle at the beginning of the year with tiring out my voice. I finally purchased something that helps! I got this unit and have used it just 4 days and it is a life saver. It has great range. I could be down the hallway and my students could still hear me. I was down the hall and around a corner, and my students still heard me. The lapel mike doesn't pick up as good as the over the head piece so I have used that. My students and coworkers joke that I look like I work at a drive thru but I don't care. It works!!!
