Consider the cable extension for a washing machine
Installed this around/under our washing machine. It was a bit difficult to hang the sensor and then string the cable in the tight space around the washer without moving it. The cable was long enough to run around the back of the washer where the water hoses are attached. It might be a good idea to get the add-on cable so we could extend it to the front of the washer as well. Overall, I'm happy with the YoLink system: easy to set up, attractive, effective, and reasonably priced.

Unique Sensor That Works Excellent
This sensor, that can work by itself or also works along with the YoLink suite of sensors is unique in that it uses a cloth like braided material surrounding a long sensor element that when the second it gets wet sounds an audible alarm and if you have it configured with their app it will send you text and / or email alerts every 5 minutes or so. You can place it around the bottom of a water heater or sink cabinet or A/C pan to cover a larger area so a leak can be detected as early as possible. If you need to cover a larger area you can link more sensor cables together, although I have not tried this or have not seen where you buy extra lengths of sensor cable. Of course, I did test the sensor and it reacts to even a drop of water and once the sensor cable gets wet is will alarm for quite a while even if you have tried to dry it with a towel. So I thought since this was just a test that I would just unplug the sensor cable and wait for it to dry out,,,, at which point, it started sending me texts every five minutes that the sensor cable was unplugged. Now while annoying, I thought that was pretty genius on the designers part since you would really like to know if the sensor had become unplugged (Think, for example, if you had moved some items underneath a sink and it pulled it out), well the sensor would no longer be viable but you wouldn't know until the water was running across the floor. Not with this little device as it will send you a notification. I have only had the system in place for two months (they also have other sensors available) and the battery levels are all still indicating full so I have not seen how well that feature works as it is supposed to track the battery level of the sensors. ( not sure if it sends an alert about low battery level) All in all, this is a slick set of sensors and while the app is a little bit clunky to get everything named and organized, once it is setup it is transparent. I hope this company can stay around to help support their product and possibly add other sensors to their repertoire.

Water Leak Detected in Crawlspace - Great Product(s)
I do not often write reviews, but the YoLink sensors have been a great addition. Today, 12/3/2023, I was out and about. I received a notification on my phone that a leak was detected in the crawlspace. When I got home and went into the crawlspace I found water in the reported location (I use a naming convention so I know the type and location of the sensors). The leak was a slow drip and the water had pooled. Once the "tail" of the S2 sensor was wet I received the alert. This was a very slow leak and it took some time for the water to build up to touch the "tail". Sometimes it is hard to get the tail to lay perfectly flat. I try to place them in lower areas too. Perhaps if a simple change like rolling the "tail" sensor vs folding them would help, but I really can't complain. They are easy enough to straighten out. I mean how many times to do go into the crawlspace in a give year. A handful? So these play an important role in being proactive. I have looked at other sensors that are cheaper, but I do like the ecosystem and they are very reliable. I have water sensors (S1's and S2's) at key points in the crawlspace to detect this very thing. The battery life is amazing. They have been deployed for over a year and they still report having full batteries. It would have take a long time for us to know that we had a slow leak. That is if we found it in the first place. Like I said before we do not often go into the crawlspace or attic. So for what is worth these add value. I do wish they were priced a bit lower though. In my case I have Yo-Link sensors in the following areas: 1) S1 - Crawlspace 2) S2 - Crawlspace 3) Motion Sensor - Mailbox 4) Temp and Humidity - Crawlspace (to help monitor the duhimidifier) and Attic 5) Outdoor Power Outlet - This allows for the remote control of the pump in the water feature (schedule control). Last year the water froze and part of the feature broke and had to be replaced. So I got this and am able to change the schedule when it is going to freeze. On the second plug I put an aquarium water heater stick that I can turn on to help keeping the water to freeze. The combination was way cheaper than other options. 6) Vibration Sensor (available on the YoLink site) - I am going to buy one of these to put on the dehumidifier in the crawlspace. We had an error that we did not notice for about two weeks. This can trigger an alert in the absence of any vibration. I am going to give this a shot too once I save some money.

Best water sensor out there!
I am a huge fan of YoLink products, especially their water sensors. I generally use the Water Sensor 2 which is the one with the 3 foot cord that senses water. I like this style because you can coil it around a water heater, under a washer or dishwasher and be assured that if water touches anywhere on the cord, you will get an alarm. I like that you can buy additional cords and connect them to the sensor so you can have even greater coverage. We had our steam dryer malfunction and was spraying so much water that is was coming out of the drum of the dryer and accumulating on the floor. This happened when we weren't home and the YoLink sensor under the washer alerted us immediately. Because we had the rope style, it alerted more quickly than if we had a point sensor. As we live on the 6th floor of a building, this could have been disastrous but wasn't thanks to our YoLink. Bonus is that you can dry out the cord, put it back and continue to be protected. Some alarms must be thrown away after they've gotten wet - not YoLink!

Another great idea from YoLink
I have become a YoLink super fan. I started with some basic sensors and I wanted one behind my fridge but it didn't fit and this is the perfect solution. Also would be great if you want to cover a larger area than the small squares - the entire cord is sensitive to water (believe me, I tested it!) The one problem with this one is that the cord soaks up water when it gets wet, and it will keep alerting to water until it is dry. You cannot just dry it off like you can with the square sensors. So when the water line behind my fridge leaked, this sensor caught it (and I never would have known about the leak otherwise, so this is great!) but I had to delete the sensor from my YoLink app to get it to stop alerting me at 4:30 in the morning. It would be SO simple to add an option in the app to acknowledge the alert pause the alarm for a set time period. The whole YoLink system is so easy to use. You need one Hub, plug it into your router, set up your free account, then just scan the QR code on each device and it will add to your app no problem. There are lots of different options for notifications. Water damage can destroy a house so fast and cost a fortune for restoration, to me these sensors are worth their weight in gold, and the fact that they are so reasonably priced and accessible is just icing on the cake.

The perfect leak sensor for constricted locations
I have a YoLink water leak detection & water shut-off system that uses twelve of the regular sensor pucks. Even though those pucks are quite small, they were still too thick to fit under the refrigerator or the dishwasher. These sensors are the solution to those tight spaces. (Note that the regular style puck did indeed fit under both our old refrigerator and old dishwasher, but not the new ones.) The sensor cable of this leak detector easily fits into those constrained spaces. Linking them to the hub is no different than the regular pucks. This style of leak sensor is the answer for too tight locations.

saved myself a huge insurance claim this weekend
I have a leak detector on top of my septic system lift station. This weekend the pump float switch failed and the tank started to overflow into my basement. The leak detector told me about it immediately with an email, a text and a message from the Yolink hub. I got there just in time and stopped further overflow. Otherwise it would have gone on for hours or days. This saved my insurance company a huge claim and saved me the deductible and a nasty cleanup. These Yolink gadgets just work dead reliable. (and are incredibly easy to set up). BTW, if you ever need help, their customer service is incredibly responsive and helpful. One significant negative: once the sensor cable gets wet it takes forever to dry out and for the alarm to disappear. You can't wipe it dry either unlike the Honeywell cables.

Very much recommended!
This is only one of the line of YoLink products that we purchased and all of them are very reliable, easy to operate and recommended! This one I'm using as alert for sump pump. Hi availability, long range coverage and reliability. Various scenarios can be programmed and alarms will be received. Shareable monitoring.

Drill holes to find water
I brought this for my daughter and her husband who had a water leak from somewhere. I thought they would hold it against the wall and it say when it found it. The end has to come into contact with water so you have to drill holes into the wall so you can put the sensor into it to touch the water. They said it was helpful but it wasn’t what I thought it was going to do.

So useful twice to alert me during 2 flood incidents
Very useful device with long cable to detect water in a area, under my Water heater, dishwasher upstairs. We can add a cable extension too I replaced my traditional wireless leak detectors with these wired ones. I was useful to prevent a consequent flood in my house by stopping automatically the main water valve of the house with their Yolink robot. And then I've received alerts on my phone
