An excellent all mountain and distance saddle, the pure features a drop nose design preventing hang ups and enough padding for all day comfort. The distinctive, rising whale-tail feature provides something to push against when the trail turns steep and makes it easy to find the saddle's sweet spot when first jumping on it.

It likes big butts.
Even though I'm a 175 lbs man, I was born with an ample backside. Kirby Puckett butt, my friends used to say. Who would have guessed all that mass centered below my waist would make me a great mountain biker one day.Unfortunately, pretty much all bike seats are simply too narrow to support a butt with this much, umm, gerth. I stumbled upon this seat because it is frequently recommended for female riders who typically carry weight below the waistline.Simply put, it just works. I've had it in Pisgah for two weeks and the thing is amazing. Very supportive for those hour long climbs, and the sloped nose keeps your shorts from catching the front when shredding down the chunky gnar. Black mountain, Avery Creek, Buckhorn, none of those caused the seat rails to fail, so it's pretty tough. The rear has plenty of squish and the center is nice and flexible to keep pressure off the taint. Total winner as far as I'm concerned.

WTB is cutting corners
This IS NOT the Pure V Pro of yore. This saddle is narrower (ouch), thinner (ouch), and the cheap material used to cover it quickly wrinkles and bunches. I have been riding the original Pure V Pro on a number of bikes, for a decade and a half. I can spend 4 hours on THAT saddle without even thinking about it. THIS IS NOT THAT SADDLE. It says 148mm, but it measures about 140 and it's a grommet-hammer. Save your money. Or spend it on a nice saddle from Ergon.

Great saddle.
Fast 3 day delivery, arrived in WTB OEM display packaging, eliminating any concerns of possible counterfeit product.I ordered a medium, 148mm width, Pure ProGel model for a hard tail MTB. The seat foam is WTB's “standard padding” with an additional gel layer and steel rails. The advertised weight is 370 grams, a 29 gram weight penalty over the very similar, Pure Comp model.I have been using a Pure Comp model, installed in a full suspension MTB, for over a year with no complaints. I've attached photos of the Comp and the new ProGel saddles for comparison.I don't foresee any durability and comfort issues with the ProGel model, but will follow up if any. Buy it.

98% perfect saddle
This “Pure” saddle shape itself is perfect If this describes you: - Over 200 lbs., and/or over 6’ tall (it’s long and wide) - squirm a bit in the saddle (lots of room for position changes ) - like to roll your hips forward and sit on the back of the Saddle. So this saddle is 98% perfect and the only possible improvement that even could be made would be to make longer rails similar to Selle. The rails are not short By any means though. They are industry standard. This would probably bump the price a bit, but it would make it perfect. I have the Race on my road bike, the PRO Gel on my MTB and the comp on my fixie.

This is another good one. My only gripe
I've been liking WTB saddles for a long time. This is another good one. My only gripe, and fairly minor, is that the cover material is pretty grippy and tends to bunch up my baggy bike shorts. Otherwise an excellent saddle.I can't tell you if it's going to be right for you. I can say that it is about a medium wide and generally proportioned for a moderately aggressive position. Not an all out "race" position, but not sitting up either.

Best upgrade yet. You need this in your life.
My butt muscles hurt and ached after every ride and I was thinking maybe my bike isn't a good fit, or maybe the chamois I was using was defective. Either way I had to do something so I talked to a bunch of riders who all said the same thing "get a new saddle". The giant connect that came with my bike was supposed to be good tho. Either way I heeded advice and picked up the WTB pure. What a game changer. My butt pains vanished and my comfort levels spiked. It was a match made in heaven dispite not getting my sit bones measured.

Comfortable out of the box
I bought a WTB Rocket Race 142mm wide, and the WTB Pure Race 148mm wide, The Pure is 27 grams heavier and 6mm wider but the comfort level was definitely worth the weight penalty. The Rocket is still a good saddle but the Pure just feels better out of the box. I put this on my fat bike but I’m considering ditching my high priced Ergon on my full suspension for the WTB Rocket so its a good saddle too.

"padding" feels almost nonexistent, but otherwise good.
Overall fairly okay for the price, but considering the gel version supposedly has extra padding, I assumed it would be softer and far more comfortable than it is. It does soften up a little over time, but don't buy this expecting a super soft saddle.Product description might could use an update too - progel appears to have plain steel rails not cromoly.Looks really good at least.

I couldn't be more pleased
I am nearing approximately 1000km on this saddle, so I felt it was time to talk about it.This is a bicycle saddle, not a lazy boy armchair and there are people that review these products that could do with remembering that information. With that said, this is the most comfortable saddle I have used! - Short of a ridiculously oversized gel cushioned one that was obscenely heavy, so its a trade that I am happy to make. Please consider the spacing of your sit bones. More info on this can be found on Google; you can give yourself a measure and compare it with the available sizes. This is a personal thing that each of us differs in and I cannot stress the importance of this enough since it will make or break your experience. There's not much else to say other than it looks wonderful, appears so far to be bomb proof and the 'love channel' has saved my baby makers from feeling like they were used as a speedbag. A sound investment, I think you may agree!

My new favourite MTB seat
Well made, very durable, better than I expected, very comfortable and no more sore sit bones. Will be using this on all my bike from now on it's that good.
