Melissa & Doug Art Essentials Artist Smock - One Size Fits All

This is an adorable smock that is easy to clean. It fits my 3.5 year old well. It can be adjusted via the Velcro straps on the sides or around the back. There are a few small pockets in the front for brushes, poms poms, any art supplies they want. My son has SPD and he hates anything around his neck but this smock has a wide enough neckline that it doesn't bother him which is a huge win for us! Very happy with our purchase so far. While it seems slightly overpriced for a plastic smock, the ease of cleaning and comfortable fit make it well worth it.

I like the smock, my child used it for school previously. Now that I have a second child going into preschool, I figured I buy the same smock.I requested overnight shipping on the 6th of September on Thursday and Now it is Monday September 10th 4 days later and still no smock.I ordered the same smock without the overnight shipping and I received that one within a day.I would love to get a refund for the shipping that never occurred, I am now hoping they send the smock before my child's art day tomorrow.I give it 1 star for customer service!I give it 1 star because my order was ignored even after paying for overnight shipping!I give it 1 star because now I need to waste money in getting a new smock locally even though this was the one I wanted for child.I am updating my review with a ***** Star rating because bottomline this is a great smock and the issue I had was with customer service and not with the product itself. The product is so great that I purchased it for both of my children. I purchased it for my daughter when she entered kindergarten and she used it until the beginning of second grade.My son used his for preschool.I wish it came in a larger size so that they may have used it from 2nd grade on continually. But we got a good use out of it and it is still standing.It is easy to wipe because of the plastic material on the exterior.It is easy to put on and adjust with the straps provided.I would say this is a great smock for children 4-7 years of age depending on the size of your child.I hope you found my updated review helpful.

For some reason my toddler has decided she needs to wear this all day when she goes to school for months. It's incredibly durable. The adjustments are great. She's only 27lbs , but tall for a 2 year old. It will fit for years I'm sure.

I really don't have anything bad to say about this apron, but just question whether you child will wear this apron. Also, do they really NEED an apron? Maybe you have an old t-shirt of maybe you just don't care too much (like us) since the paints are washable and out son really isn't too messy.Our son was about 2 1/2 when he got this with the easel and painting set. He has worn it for about 5 minutes. Maybe he will like it as he gets a little older, but by then he may have become accustomed to not wearing it. Bad parenting? Not really. Just a toddler who has fun painting and has a mind of his own some times.Again, well made (like other Melissa & Doug products), but just not used as much as we had expected. You might save yourself a few bucks.

Excellent quality and easy to take on and off. Very handy!!

Sizing: My youngest just turned two and is around the 60th percentile in height and weight (so pretty average). This smock is large on him---it fits passably if the straps are as tight as they will go. It also fits my five-year-old, though it's on the small side for him. Good size for preschoolers in between those two age groups.Pros:- Washable. The clear, heavy duty plastic coating makes it easy to wipe clean.- Utility. Has a handy pocket in the front to hold brushes and other supplies.- Fun. In addition to the bright colors, the kids enjoy having their name or a little decoration on the front of their smock.- Large. Unlike some other smocks I looked at, this one is long enough to protect their clothes from around the knees up.Cons:- Cost. Though not expensive (~$9 when I purchased it), I think you can get passable smocks for 1/3 or 1/2 the price.

The smock is able to fit all of my children, despite the wide age range. The easel has settings that are adjustable for different height settings, which is useful for those with younger children, when they grow, the easel can grow with them. My children were elated with this gift, and I will purchase Melissa & Doug products as often as possible, the quality is the best I've found among children's toys.

Brightly colored. This is heavy and huge. Disappointed.
