I haven't had any problems with these. They could use a slightly more secure attachment system. It just has hooks on top with an elastic cord (with a metal ring) on the bottom. So it's only the tension on the cord that hold them in place when empty.I like that they fold up flat when not in use (on or off the bike). I bring them into the store and hang them inside the cart. That way I can make sure I'm not buying too much and I can arrange fragile items to avoid damage.The little reflective flags seem like an afterthought by the manufacturer. With a little more thought they could have been made more useful as a simple closure aid or something. I can't seem to find a real use for them other than reflectors that flap in the wind.It would be nice to have a snap at the center of the handles to hold them together when the bag is open. That may also help keep something from bouncing or blowing out.I have not used other panniers specifically designed for grocery shopping, so I don't have much to compare them too. These are effective for what they are intended for - but they could be better with a little more thought put into the design.

I bought these several months ago for my sister's birthday. The canvas bags are like reinforced canvas grocery bags. One paper grocery bag fits nicely inside. The biggest problem with these bags is that the attachment is so poor that I have two sitting here that need a new attachment system. They don't have a hook like better made panniers, like Jandd. They have a ring attached to some flimsy piece of rubber band tied in a knot. She liked them until the rubber band untied through use and the ring fell off somewhere on the road. This happened to both panniers at different times.When I contacted the company and asked why they don't use a hook instead of the circle, they were rude, insinuated that I was stupid and told me if I don't like it, I can take it back to where I bought it. Don't be fooled by the American company, because they are made in China and it is probably one of the reasons that the attachment quality is so poor.

These grocery panniers work very well and look good, for a fraction of the cost of other canvas bike bags. Only one pannier per order, so for a pair, you need to order two.The attachment system is übersimple, just some hooks at the top and a d-ring on an adjustable bungee at the bottom. Nevertheless, the whole thing is stable and stays on. There is a plastic backing with a folding steel frame.I expect these to last a long time and plan to get other Minnehaha products.
