Limited LM317 to 81C at 2 watts
These seem to work decently. One word of caution when using with the LM317, youโll need to probably add a shim (see image, I used aluminum folded from a soda can) to get it to really press against the heat sink. They work fine for the 7805s. Here Iโm dropping 9ish volts to 2 volts at about 0.3A so itโs dissipating roughly 2 watts. This heat sink kept the case temp at roughly 81C with about 22C ambient. The third image where I circled with the red is where I took the case temp.

Keeps mosfets cool
Had a small project that is using the L7805cv 5v regulator. This chip is not really known for efficiency, so even at a few milliamperes it gets hot to the touch. This heatshink seemed like the best option out there. The build quality is good and it tightens down nice. Some mentioned that this will not work with breadboards, I was not able to remove the support pin, but I was able to bend it. This makes it good for prototyping and potentially PCBs if you donโt accommodate for the pin hole.

Exactly as advertised. No issues. Good value
These are a good, cheap heatsink for TO-220 components like LM317 and 780x up to about 800 ma. They come with mounting hardware and precut silicone insulator. Suggestion: for higher power devices use a silver-bearing paste instead of the precut silicone, and take a moment to sand the back of the heatsink with 600 grit until you get to bare metal. This makes a world of difference and your device will run considerably cooler. Decent quality, especially for the price. Will buy again.

They seem to do their job
These heat sinks seem to do their job. I have missed them on a couple of devices that I have built, whenever I have a voltage regulator chip, it definitely calls for these. If you are planning on using one in your project just make sure you put some electrical tape on the proto board under it to electrically isolate it from the other lines. It's conductive and can short out your circuit if you're not isolating it electrically. Particularly an issue when using proto boards.

Works well, and compatible foot print is in KiCAD.
Good quality, works well in a DC power supply and Audio power amplifier using TO-220 package devices. I used the KiCAD Heatsink_Fischer SK104-TSC-STIC foot print, but I had to modify the court yard to eliminate court yard conflict errors between the T0-220 package part and the heat sink (copied the foot print into personal component library, and modified the courtyard).
