FiskarsEasy Action Pinking Shears, 10.5 Inch (191000-1001)

The quality of pinking shears varies widely and I have used many brands over the years. My preferred brand is Fiskars and I have been very happy with the older traditional standard pinking shears which have served me well for over a decade.A temporary dexterity issue prompted me to try the new easy action pinking shears. The shears have a smooth action and quality sharp blades. The handle is designed to accommodate your fingers, leaving the thumb free so there's no pressure on the thumb joint when cutting. The movement used is more like gripping / squeezing action rather than the thumb moving / guiding a traditional scissor handle.Although the new grip is unusual at first, I quickly adapted and found the shears cut well across a wide range of fabrics.

These easy action pinking shears are a life changer- OK maybe that's a bit drastic but I am an avid seamstress and they have changed my life. I have arthritis in my hands and also fibromyalgia so using standard pinking shears had become agony for me and I've always relied on pinks to stop fabrics fraying. With these superb spring action pinks I can cut fabric to my hearts content with absolutely NO pain. Well worth the expense and the wait for them to be shipped from the USA. They are very well made and cut perfectly. If you the reader of this review have hand pain and dexterity problems then I can highly recommend these.

Bought these as I get wrist strain from fibromyalgia, and thought it could help greatly. I had to get these from Amazon US as none available in UK, so for over £35, not great. Fiskars scissors have alway been great and light to use and sharp, but these are really stiff, even after machine oil/wd40 was used to ‘loosen them up a bit’ as you can’t really ease the bolt without rendering them useless.Easy to get used too but a bit heavy after a while. This range needs to be improved as it is a necessity for people with health issues.

Stiff action, hard on hands even with light fabric. When cutting the scissors do not return to the start position without pulling the handles apart. Fiskars make good scissors so disappointed with pinking shears.
