Genuine Leather Adjustable Duet Size Artist Piano Bench Stool in Ebony with Music Storage

I own an 88 key, Yamaha digital stage piano and never had a nice bench for it. I was looking for a black leather, tufted style bench that looked substantial and classy. This bench really seemed to suit my needs. It arrived very quickly and was expertly packed in what I would call a manageable sized box. The legs, which have very nice protection pads at the bottom of each one, are a glossy black and were off and wrapped in the box. I simply turned the seat part of the bench upside down and screwed the legs on. The seat itself has some weight to it, but I would not consider it heavy or burdensome. Putting the legs on took all of 3 minutes. A simple tool was included to tighten them.The bench looks even nicer in person than as pictured on Amazon and it is very well made. The comfort-level of the seat is what you would want for playing the piano - it is on the stiff side, but it should be. The leather is soft to the touch and the tufting makes it look like an expensive piece. The only two negative things worth mentioning as a potential downside to buyers is 1) The seat is not big enough for two people. My 17 year-old son, who is on the thin side, had plenty of room but not enough for another person of his size or larger to sit with him. A thin adult and a very small child might be able to sit together. 2) The depth beneath the hinged seat is all of one inch. This seemed odd. There is enough room for sheet music, but not much else. If you are looking for a bench to store all of your books of sheet music, know that very little will fit inside. Additionally, the inside of the storage bench appears to be lined with some kind of heavy paper. Once I placed my sheet music inside, you couldn't see it. This doesn't bother me, as it is on the inside of the bench and does nothing to take away from it, but in case you are picky about such things, know this in advance. If you were inclined, you could easily line it with black felt. I am hard to please and like getting a good deal, so I can say with confidence that I am very pleased with this bench and for the price, I cannot imagine finding a better deal. I hope to enjoy is for many years to come. I hope this review helps you with your decision.

It has taken me 12 years to finally upgrade my existing wooden piano bench to this beauty--I should have done it so much sooner. This bench is great quality--the seat is real leather, its surface is nicely firm without being like my old one--practicing was not comfortable, I have to say, this one--a breeze, even for hours on end. It has a large storage space underneath the seat, and the seat's surface area is much larger than in most benches. The bench cam disassembled, and I had to assemble it at home. It took me less than 15 minutes; directions were clear (obviously not an IKEA bench . . .), and I could do it by myself with just a Philips screwdriver. What a beautiful difference this now makes! And the price was so reasonable!

Based on a lot of positive reviews, I had high expectations of the seller and the product. I was not disappointed.The bench arrived within the promised time frame and was exactly as described. I've had it now about a month and I'll note two very minor issues that do not change my rating.I have an area rug that runs behind the bench when the bench is not in use. When I want to play, I have to lift the bench and place it on the edge of the rug. The very first time I did so, the leg pad (for hard floors) under one of the legs came loose. I used some double-sided tape to put it back in place and that has worked so far, but I expect that to be temporary. However, the standard bench I got from Steinway did not even have leg pads, I had to do those myself anyway. Also, whenever I lift the bench I can feel the height adjuster move. It doesn't change the height, it just doesn't feel real solid. But, again, I would not even notice that if I didn't have to lift it. More storage would be nice -- it has about half the storage as the standard Boston bench.The bench is very comfortable. The leather cushion does look nice and appears to be well crafted.

The assembly instructions were inadequate. However, the seller contacted me very promptly and texted me some instructions that were much better, and after that I was able to assemble it correctly. The shipping box was very good, very reinforced and safe. Some of the rubber pads on the ends of the legs came off almost as soon as the bench touched the floor, I'll have to replace those end pads with something better.

A good basic residential piano bench for the money - attractive and sturdy. That being said, it could be so much better... What appears to be a plush, cushioned tufted seating area is really no more comfortable than any standard residential piano bench. There is only a thin layer of foam between the leather seat and the hard bench top to the storage area. And the storage is so small that it is inconsequential. Everyone has a drawer or a cabinet or shelf to store music anyway, so why insist on a storage compartment in a bench? Remove the storage area, and there is room for a more plush seating cushion, you eliminate the need for the unsightly hinges and probably facilitate better concealment of the exposed lift adjustment mechanism. Better design could make this basic bench into a real first class artist bench.

This bench looked and felt much more expensive than its actual cost. The padded top was sturdy, the wood was beautifully lacquered and the mechanism to raise or lower the bench was strong and easy to use. Better than expected all around and so easy to attach the legs with the included wrench.

Es un banco para piano de refinada presencia, con características que me resultaron de interés para adquirirlo; asiento tapizado en piel de muy buena textura y de alta calidad, con material de soporte acojinado de muy buena consistencia que brinda condiciones adecuadas para una buena postura y el soporte necesario para el estudio y la práctica del piano durante sesiones de varias horas al día. Cuenta con un espacio suficientemente amplio bajo el asiento para guardar métodos y partituras; algunas personas han mencionado que resulta reducido el espacio, sin embargo, en mi opinión, el espacio es adecuado y resulta práctico para guardar el material musical que utilizo a diario. Caben dos tantos de los mostrados en la foto que anexo, que es mas que suficiente. Considero que un espacio mas amplio no es necesario, en tal caso se debe utilizar separadamente un estante o librero.Recibí el paquete antes de la fecha estimada y llegó en perfectas condiciones; si bien no trae instructivo para montar y atornillar las patas, es algo que resulta intuitivo y muy sencillo de realizar por personas que sepan utilizar una simple llave "allen"; basta con posicionar cada pata en su sitio y colocar luego el tornillo con la roldana de presión (la roldana junto a la cabeza del tornillo) y apretar con la llave que viene incluída (adherida con cinta adhesiva a la caja de las patas). Es importante tomar en cuenta que es posible que al poner el banco de pié, exista un pequeño juego con respecto al piso, esto puede deberse a que alguna de las patas quedó un poco mas larga o un poco mas corta, situación que se resuelve fácilmente ajustando la altura de la pata o de las patas que estén ocasionado el juego, para ello basta aflojar el tornillo hasta que permita desplazar ligeramente la pata un poco mas arriba o un poco mas abajo (es un ajuste minimo), con eso debe quedar un ensamble perfecto de duración permanente.El mecanismo de elevación del asiento funciona muy bien y permite el ajuste para el uso de personas de diversas estaturas, el acabado de las patas es brillante y de alta calidad. Aunque se promociona como un banco tipo "dueto", en realidad es poco mas ancho que un banco personal lo que permite a un adulto y un infante, o bien dos personas de no mas de 60kg tocando simultáneamente, sería necesario que tuviera unos 12 a 15 cm mas de largo para que fuera apto para dos adultos. Sin embargo, en mi caso, la longitud es ideal, ya que prácticamente el 100% del tiempo toca una sola persona y resulta muy cómodo.El precio es algo elevado pero considero que vale la pena para los profesionales y quienes gustan de tener sus pianos en perfectas condiciones.
