Book is written well easy to understand for someone who doesn't know a whole lot about electrical
Better than I expected I understood the book and the concept they were trying to relay The reason I gave four instead of five stars was I thought maybe some sections of the book could be a little longer but all around good

Interesting but six years old. Hit or miss....
Interesting read so far. Just started it and like it so far, but the book is a bit dated. Published in 2017 and their website stops in 2017. So, how current is the information? Are the authors still alive. Weill update after I finish the book.

Useful
While I would not consider myself a prepper I have always kept a good supply of food etc at home. The pandemic has made me think more about what you need to survive, not from zombies or the like but power failure. I know that here in the UK that is extremely rare, but it might happen. This book gives you a good starting point to the things you might need.

Knowledge from folks living it- NOT prepper posers
Just received my copy the other night and can not wait to read it- so far have only browsed it as this is a very busy season. I have had occasion to meet the authors and speak with them at length more than once and am VERY impressed with them. They are the real deal, not just posers who know a little and are writing a book to get published. They went off grid cold turkey so they would be forced to make it work for them. They are thorough and methodical in their research and decision making in their approach to off grid living and have a lot to teach even those of us who are coming at alternative energy from more of an environmental and homesteading angle than prepping.

What's needed vs what isn't.
As an Engineer, I understood what was written. It seems that if one has a lot of money, what was proposed works but for those who are not wealthy and had to understand the technical aspects, this book made success unlikely.Example, the use for a diode is understandable but how to implement was not well defined. For many a low cost regulator is more likely than the proposed +$200 units the writers used. Did they consider others?
