Vitamin N: The Essential Guide to a Nature-Rich Life [Louv, Richard] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Vitamin N: The Essential Guide to a Nature-Rich Life Review: A Book of Ideas (Good ones!!) - This is not a traditional book, rather it is a book of ideas; jumping off points to have more fun in nature. It operates somewhat like a field guide for having fun in nature for the newly initiated and long-time lovers alike. It definitely helped me move out of my nature rut, as if there is such a thing. The book is packed with over 500 different activities organized into sections. It's easy to skip stuff you aren't interested in and find what you are looking for. I tried eight different activities in one week with my one-year-old and four-year-old and we all had a blast! It was definitely worth the money. I plan to come back to the book again and again. I have it all tabbed up as there are tons of activities I want to try as my children get older. There is a whole section on outdoor games from different countries that I loved. But, my children are a little young for them right now. If you have any interaction with children (as a parent, grandparent, teacher, babysitter), I highly recommend this book. Review: I wish as many parents read this as the “What to Expect..” books. - Wonderful ideas and explanation about connecting families to nature to greater mental health and joy. Read, bookmark and reference! It’s a great wedding or new baby gift.

Great Ideas
Lots of great family oriented activities, wish I had this book when our daughter was born!!! Would be great gift for new parents! The author has other books that talks about the importance of being in and learning about nature, and how it has healing values. Highly recommend this and his other books.

This book is a true celebration of creative and practical ways in which people have woven nature into their lives, work and communities. It is packed full of examples of what ordinary people can do. Richard has done his research thoroughly, particularly in the US and UK to showcase everyday practice and ideas. He generously quotes people and organisations and provides links for further reading or website to find out more. It's a directory of nature-based suggestions. As an educator, this book demonstrates that schools need not work in isolation to get children outside - we are part of a bigger picture. Through creating quality natural spaces in our homes, schools and communities we can improve the health and wellbeing of the whole population and that of other species with which we share the planet. A really useful and informative read.

Excited to dive into this book! If it's anything like the other books written by Richard Louv, then I'm sure it's nothing less than amazing!!
