Love this game for toddlers!
My toddler is quite literally OBSESSED with this game. I gave it to her for christmas and we played it no lie, 8 time in a row. It's so cute and teaches color matching skills and motor skills. Each player has their own log which has 5 slots for acorns. There are colored acorns. Purple, yellow, blue, red and green. The objective is to get one of each. All of the acorns "live" on the tree, aka you just scatter them in the box because the box is the tree (this is great for keeping acorns contained!). You use the spinner to determine how many acorns you get, what color (if any) you get, or other plays such as stealing an acorn from a player, losing your turn or losing all of your acorns to the wind. If you spin and are able to get an acorn, you use the squirrel tongs to pick it up off the tree and put it in your log. Overall the game is super cute, my daughter isn't quite 3 yet and for the most part understands how to play this game. It's a great introduction to board games for her and super fun.

Cute toddler game
Such a cute game for toddlers! My three year old loves the concept and is already picking up on things on his own within a few plays. The game pieces are super cute and it helps with taking turns, color recognition, counting, etc. The game goes pretty quickly most times so it’s good for a toddler’s attention span. He even wanted to play twice in a row which was awesome quality time for us!

Perfect Game for Little Hands and Growing Minds!
T his squirrel game is a huge hit in our house! It’s super easy for toddlers to learn, and the gameplay is just the right length to hold their attention. It’s fantastic for building fine motor skills—using the squirrel tweezers to pick up the acorns is both fun and great for hand-eye coordination. The game also naturally teaches colors, counting, and taking turns, which makes it a great learning tool without feeling like a lesson. Even older kids (and adults!) enjoy playing along, which makes it a fun family activity. Highly recommend for toddlers and preschoolers!

Simple game, great for kids to play without a grownup
I purchased this game for my kindergarten and first grade children. I wish I would have found it a few years ago. As other reviewers mention, the premise of the game is simple and games do not take very long. It is not the most exciting game for adults, but my children really enjoy it. The simplicity of the game is both the biggest selling point and the biggest drawback. What I like: - My kids can take this one out and play it alone. They don't need adult help for setup. - No reading necessary. My younger child is still learning to read and that can be a hangup with other games. - No really small pieces. Yes, there are lots of acorns, but they are bigger than the cherries in Hi Ho Cherry-O and are easy to spot when it is time to put the game away. - This has been a good game to teach being a good sport and not always winning. - The logs, acorns, and squirrel are good quality and are holding up to some boisterous play. What I don't like: - The game can be a little too simple, meaning they are done in just 5 or 10 minutes, though my children are at the higher end of the age range. I think this would be perfect as a "first game" for those in the 3-4 age group (as long as they are past the stage of putting things in their mouth - the acorns could pose a choking hazard).

Perfect game for non-readers!
I introduced this game to my preschool class and they BEG to play it everyday. So easy, teaches colors, turn taking, aids fine motor skills. If you spin and land on the sneaky, snacky squirrel, you get to take an acorn that you need from another player and if the windstorm blows your acorns away you have to put them back in the tree :( .... cooperative game play (another skill we are working on in preschool!) There is a plastic squirrel "tong" that the kids can use to pick up their acorn and place it in their log, and there are twists along the way ... kids who are behind can spin to receive two acorns and come from behind to win! I would SO much rather play this game with kids than others that take forever and are hard for them. No reading necessary! The spinner has visuals, the kids catch on quickly, and they often beat me! This is my favorite gift to give little kids.

Fun for the whole family
Such a fun game for the whole family! We first played this at play therapy for my 5 year old and knew I would instantly have to buy it. We have been playing every night as a family.

I can't say enough good things! Here are the top 10
This game is amazing! I have been looking for a brand of board game that would be appropriate for a smart-but-yoing toddler for quite some time. It seems all games marketed to the younger bunch involves something going to the bathroom or feeding something until it exploded, all completely unnecessarily vulgar humor, especially for the age group it's marketed for. This game finally answered my prayers about finding a suitable board game to play with my daughter. Here are my favorite things about it. 1. The pieces do not feel cheap. The acorns are made of a rubber like texture, not the hollow plastic most games use now. 2. It is a very easy concept, and can be grasped almost as young as 2 1/2 3. It is great practice on gross motor skills 4. My daughter asked me a lot about squirells as we were playing, it really encouraged learning about the animal. 5. Encourages counting skill development, sorting, and colors 6. The pictures made the turn action super simple to explain to my young one. 7. Even when we had played this game out(after about 15 games in a row) my daughter still liked to use the acorns and tree stumps to imagine different play scenarios. 8. The box it came in is part of the game, keeping prices from getting lost in the mouth of my one year old. 9. There was never any reason to get rowdy, it's always a quiet game, good for lengthening focus and creative thought. 10. That squirell and the illustration on the tree is so darn cute!! I'm done raving, but seriously, I WILL be buying more from this developer, I am blown away by the effort they put into making this clean, educational, fun, and a quality product. PERFECT gift for 3-4 year old on any occasion.

3 years old and 5 years old boys love it very much. I personally like the game set, the whole board game is so cute and it train their motor skills and patience. Why patient? The reason being, little hands of children have difficulties to grasp the nut with the squirrel handle. So this really train their motor skills.

Fantastic educational and fun early years game.
This game was one of my daughters most coveted this Christmas after watching the YouTube demonstration it was all she would talk about for her Christmas list and she hasn't been disappointed. This game is fun, colourful and creative but also excellent for young children to develop game skills of taking turns, spinning the wheel and strategy alongside counting, colours and fine motor skills in using the squirrel shaped tongs to select the coloured acorns. My daughter is small for her age and has struggled with the tongs but this is also good for encouraging resilience alongside hand strength and by continuing to try she is more confident and we have had to expand her game selection! For grown ups this game is excellent for reducing chaos of lost bits in that it is self contained and self storing, the box is the game 'board' and everything goes back in it without having to align bits of plastic with inner packaging everytime, just scoop and shut the lid, job done. Overall, I'm a fan of Learning Resources products despite their higher price you get quality pieces, this was worth the investment for us and is an excellent choice for the preschooler/reception aged child but wil still get value for older primary aged children as its competitive with the forfeit spins and fun overall.
