I like the overall approach used to explain dementia; the causes and the effect it can have on the person experiencing it. You don't have to read each chapter outlining the causes, if you know the particular one you are dealing with, or may have to deal with as time progresses. Many other books deal with Alzheimer's Disease primarily, with only a fleeting mention of the other causes which can have a different effect. This book also explains the impact the disease can have on the caregiver, and it allows the caregiver to have a better understanding to help develop an empathy towards the person with dementia.
