AC Infinity 4" fan effortlessly vents wooden desk enclosed CPU compartment even with a hot running computer.
I bought one 4" (80mm) AC Infinity fan without the controller to cool the enclosed CPU section of my desk. I have a desktop computer housed in the desk CPU enclosure that puts off a substantial amount of heat and within 1-2 hours, I measured the temperature inside the desk CPU enclosure to be around 84F. Electronic components typically don't like being run in temperatures higher than 85F and will have a reduced lifespan if they are run hotter than 85F. My desk already had a preexisting opening from under the desk surface (where my feet go) to the top of the CPU enclosure. This opening was designed to allow monitor cables to be run from the top of the desk into the CPU compartment and measured 3.9" x 6.9". I installed the fan (blowing out) at the top of the opening and closed off the remaining bottom portion with a plate. The AC Infinity fan runs off an integrated USB port located on the back of my computer and (seemingly without effort) keeps the desk CPU enclosure at almost room temperature (plus maybe 1-2 degrees). Note: I did NOT have to use the USB "turbo" converter that came with the fan. I also did not drill any new ventilation holes into the desk CPU enclosure for air intake. It would appear that the natural 1mm cracks around the closed doors on both sides of the desk CPU enclosure are sufficient for allowing room temperature air to flow into the desk CPU enclosure. The really cool thing (no pun intended :)) is that when the computer goes to sleep, it not only stops producing heat but ALSO shuts down the integrated USB port which in turn shuts off the AC Infinity fan. It is a perfect system that negates the need for the optional AC Infinity fan controller. The AC Infinity fan runs so quietly that in a dead silent room, I can't tell if the slight hum I hear is from the AC Infinity fan or the louder fan located in my computer's power supply within the cabinet. I HIGHLY recommend this fan for this application! I have also used the AC Infinity 6" (120mm) fans in my much larger home entertainment cabinets and they also perform very well and very quietly. Update: After writing this review, I tried running the fan on the low setting and the temperature inside the CPU enclosure did begin to (very slowly) creep up. Also, on the low setting, the slight hum disappears (to my ears anyway). So, the fan running on high setting does add to the hum. I'm going to watch to see if on the low fan setting the temp stops rising at some point. If not, I'll run the fan on the high setting and not worry about it. I still don't need to use the "turbo" wall USB adapter that claims a 25% increase of airflow. But, it is nice to know I have that option if I add heat producing components to my desk's CPU enclosure.

Excellent function and form
I don't write reviews for every product I purchase on Amazon, but once in a while you get one that exceeds expectations. These fans are extremely well built and well packaged, as soon as you take it out of the box you can feel and see the quality in fit, finish, and attention to detail. My wife was getting irritated that I took over her "coffee station" with my networking equipment (4G Booster, NAS, Router, Switch, and Raspberry Pi). So I tossed them into the storage of the mini kitchenette, I quickly realized that all that equipment runs HOT in a confined area so I went to Amazon. I found these fans, and albeit they are a bit expensive, you get what you pay for. Let me say that again, you get what you pay for. Buy once and cry once. My network "cabinet" not only looks awesome with the air vents on it (the external aesthetics really are a great design), my equipment runs colder than it did out in the open. Plus, my wife is (slighly) less irritated. To wrap it up, you get function AND form, the price point is steep, especially for two fans (one set to push, one set to pull). There are cheaper ways to achieve this function but nothing can match the form, oh did I mention that they are nearly silent, we also have a small air purifier in the room and you cant' hear the fans running whatsoever while on Medium which is MORE than enough flow for my small area. I also have them powered by the USBS ports on the the Raspberry Pi. Oh, did i mention I have a huge APS UPC in the lower portion of the cabinet, so this way as long as the Pi is running (which it will if anything in there is running) the fans get power from the backup battery. Very happy with this product, not excited about price, but it is worth it.

Fantastic product, well made, top quality, quiet, low power
I plan to mount this onto the base bezel of a Pelican case of electronics that will generate too much heat. I have not done so or used it much, but out of the box I'm blown away by the quality of this product. Because they don't supply any technical information whatsoever, and Q&A and reviews on here are just all over the place (wrong information, people talking that should not, etc.), I wanted to immediately share first impressions and the power measurements and testing I just did. Firstly, it does not blow a ton of air, and I have no way to measure that. They state 26cfm, I would assume this is using their "boost" adapter (it just puts out 6.4V instead of 5V) and on the "high" setting. At this max output, it makes enough noise that you can hear it. It is REALLY quite quiet. The reports from people that it is "loud" must be in the context of a home theater, you would indeed hear it during quiet parts of a show. But it is NOT loud. But, at settings other than high, or not using their power supply, I could not really hear it at all. Ok, I also have detailed power measurements for those that need this: Any 5V USB Power Supply LO: 98mA, or 489mW MED: 124mA, or 620mW HIGH: 157mA, or 789mW "Boost" Supply (included) LO: 124mA, or 786mW MED: 156mA, or 1W HIGH: 198mA, or 1.27W I hope this helps folks, this is an excellent product and very low power, I think. Please ignore the ignorant and snarky other information people have posted on here, and no, none of this is posted by the manufacturer here, or anywhere else.

This review is for the S1 80mm Fans. Work great, but don't expect miracles.
My media cabinet is an enclosed cabinet with two shelves and sliding glass front doors. Looks great, but definitely not designed to actually house electronics equipment.. well, I have my DirecTV box with Video bridge, Panamax power conditioner, Marantz AVR, PS4, Outlaw audio amplifier and Oppo Bluray player. I normally keep the doors slid open, but recently my DirecTV box had issue and needed to be replaced, and I suspect it may have been due to heat. I followed AC Infinity's calculation for airflow, and decided that 4 of these S1 fans would provide adequate airflow with two set as intakes on the bottom and two as exhaust on the top. First the pros: Very well packaged. Each fan arrived in its individual box complete with power plug, instruction book, fan template, and accessories. Even better customer service. Before I purchased the fans, I emailed customer service with some general questions. I quickly heard back from Andrew, and since them we have emailed back and forth no less than 12 times, and he has been patient, helpful, and accommodating every step of the way. Between the packaging the the customer service, it is clear AC Infinity cares about its products and its customers. Fans can be daisy chained, with up to 6 fans off of the wall plug or 4 from just USB. Fans also have individual speed controls, but if daisy chained they will all sync speed to a "master" speed controller. The fans do move a pretty good amount of air. Cons In the high setting when running off the power plug (which increases fan speed by 25%), the fans are unbearably loud. Maybe I'm just sensitive to them, but I can't stand having them on high. Since I can't run them on high, I keep them on medium, which now means that I don't get the most effective cooling. Overall, I highly recommend these fans. They are well made and AC Infinitys customer service is top notch. **Update, I added the airplate s6 cooler to the top of my Marantz receiver, and now with that on auto mode and the S1 fans set to medium speed, everything stays cool and you can barely hear the fans at all.

Pretty fantastic.
I purchased two single fans and the lowest cost thermal controller for my TV stand that has doors on it, basically making it an oven due to my fairly large receiver and Xbox One X. So far, so good! First off, the items were all very nicely packaged. Practical and attractive. I usually don't care, but it was noticed. The quality seems very high. Solid items. Well manufactured. I loved the rubberized coating around the fan housing. The front cover and grille look very nice. Instalation is as easy as can be. The included stencil came in VERY handy. Swapping one fan around for one air inlet was a cinch and well explained. The two fans have plenty of length for a variety of units. I have a lot of slack to spare in my 50" wide stand. Daisy chaining them is cake. Being a simple set-up I only needed the basic thermal controller. It was easy to get going, and since I bought two fans, I used one of their included power adapters to power everything. Having adjustable fan speeds is nice. High can be kinda loud, but when gaming it's not really noticeable. I'm actually testing the internal temperatures of my stand with the fans running at different speeds, while gaming/not gaming, and off (Xbox on standby). If it ends up being interesting information, I'll update here: Works as advertised and I would absolutely recommend a purchase. If I ever get rid of this cheap stand, I'll probably just throw it away and keep this stuff for the next one. Yes, you can buy fans, switches, and all that stuff and do it yourself, but the ease and build quality of this makes it totally worth the price, in my eyes.

AC Infinity products are the BEST
Got this little fan to use in a home made grow box that I built for starting pepper plants in the winter. I used this as an air intake to bring in fresh air. The first thing you will notice about buying any of their products are the quality of the packaging. And it isn't one of those things where they are tricking you with the outside to sell you garbage on the inside. It really sets a great first impression when you see the care that these items are packaged with. Another really good thing that you will notice is the price of their products. They are extremely affordable and fair in their pricing. The products are of super high quality and the price makes them even more attractive. The materials they use are also very high quality giving the products a very high end feel. The fan itself has several speeds but the I really only use it on the high setting. It doesn't move a lot of air but I just needed it to provide a constant flow of fresh air in the box so it is very sufficient for my needs. Being that it doesn't move a lot of air it stays extremely quiet as well. You really wouldn't even know that it was on if you didn't look at the blades or put your hand in front of it to feel the air. The cord is plenty long for most needs and the controller is simple enough for what it is. I don't have anything bad to say about these products and will continue buying and supporting AC Infinity for all my growing needs.

Nice, quiet little fans that move a surprising amount of air
We started having a lot of issues with the cable box/media hub overheating thanks to the pretty. but electronics ventilation unfriendly, TV stand at my dad's place. Installation was easy and straightforward. I recommend pre-planning before cutting the holes. That's no big deal with a drill and a small hand saw, as long as you use the included templates and don't rush. We installed two of these fans (one in each cabinet compartment) plus the AC Infinity CONTROLLER 2 thermostat and speed control unit, with the temperature probe set up in the compartment that has the equipment that is always on (cable box and media hub/router). Having set up DIY cooling systems years ago using parts from electronics stores, I have to say that using USB interface to chain the fans is a nice design choice that eases installation significantly. Total install time for the 2 fans + temperature controller was about 2 hours, but I was using manual hand tools (no power tools except a Dremel sander for a little fine tuning) and had an 80lb Labrador 'helping'. Based on the size of the fans and prior experience with cabinet cooling systems, I as expecting them to move less air and produce more noise. So far, they've performed admirably in cooling the cabinet and I usually can't hear them at all. The internal fan on the cable box is louder. We debated setting up extra fans as intakes before the order arrived, but that hasn't been necessary.

A real FAN!. NO manufacturer shortcuts in here.
Quality, details, performance above and beyond standards. Right for the beginning when I received the package and Open it? I noticed how much AC Infinity do care about their products and ensure it will arrive all in perfect condition (It remind me when unboxing any apple computer products). I am one of those that read the instructions first! before I touch the equipment. Man! the manual is so complete & educational. Fans are very well made, feel strong (not toys) and with an attractive look.I bought these fan to cool out a wooden case with an inverter generator. Weird?? :) actually It did work flawlessly. Now let's talk about NOISE. What noise?? :) these are very quiet. while I was testing I could not believe that fan was ON, I pull out my flashlight and YES! blades were running. Cables does have enough length. Summary: AC Infinity take their business very serious, their product ROCKS!, price are very reasonable. Last thing! you should buy fans with controller if you want to track the temperature and YES! it is true, they can be powered thru USB but I highly recommend to use with the AC adapter, it does give an additional power that I need in my case. Thank you AC Infinity for your products and an amazing, very educational/straight to the point website, I am tracking your site for newer rack mount stuff :).

Quality and quiet
Bought 2 along with a temperature probe to keep a media cabinet cool that houses a SKY box and router. The fans are well packaged and look quality. Templates included for fitting, along with all necessary screws. Reversing the fans is also easy (I've one for inflow, and the 2nd for outflow), and both fans and probe are connected to a single power outlet. On low, the fans cannot be heard, and even on high you would struggle to hear them above other background or TV noises. Very impressed.

Quality product, easy installation, very happy.
Great product of noticeably high quality. Easy install and all mounting accessories were included. I'm in Australia and AU conversion plugs were also included in the packaging which was appreciated. Daisy chain feature is a nice touch so that both fans can function from one power source. Have mine both set to medium speed and cannot hear them at all while operating. My tech cabinet is on average 10-12 degrees C lower since installing the fans so very happy with the outcome! They aren't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for and these are quality fans.

Great Quality
I had to add these cooling fans to my cabinet because the upper shelves did not have proper ventilation. Being able to daisy chain the fans is a very nice feature which allows you to use only one usb power supply. Although, when they are connected together, the first fan connected to power supply will control the speed of the other fans. The fans are very quiet on low and medium speeds. High speed is too loud to use. Most importantly is that it keeps my equipment cool.
