Usually on veg-tanned or other high quality leather, have not tried it on bonded or coated leathers - for that sort of material you should use a Lexol or other conditioners. The oil soaks right in, and will turn a hardened ill-maintained leather into usable condition. I've tried many different products, and this oil seems to be the best at reviving leather that I thought was a goner. The darkening will fade after a week or so, but some lighter colored items may be permanently darkened. It has a dauber built into the lid, just brush it on, wait a few mins and wipe off any unabsorbed oil.
