Fantastic Gel Pack works like it is supposed to. Very well made and durable.I bought this gel pack because is the same one my physical therapist uses. He actually had the same pad for 10 years. So this brand is professional grade.He taught me how to properly use cold packs. For the individuals complaining about the pad not getting cold enough or the elasto-gel not lasting cold for too long, here is how cold/heat therapy works.First cold therapy doesn't mean cold as ice, or burn your skin. It is not supposed to be that cold. it supposed to cool down your muscles and reduce/avoid inflammation after strenuous workout or physical therapy. You should be able to apply it directly to the skin and feel the cooling effect for 10 to 20 minutes max. At no point during this cold therapy, you are supposed to feel like it is too much cold, or it is burning you, or that you can't take it any more.Again, hot/cold therapies are supposed to last 10 to 20 min per body section (knee, shoulder, etc) and be cold enough to avoid/reduce inflammation, not to burn or freeze muscle/skin tissue (causing more problems than fixing them).With these in mind, the elasto-gel is one of the best cold/heat therapy pads out there and works wonderfully.

I have seen quite a few negitave reviews in reguards to this ice wrap. Most along the lines of "it doesn't get cold enough." In the past 10 years, I have been to 5 different physical therepists and have had 2 knee surgeries. All the time through rehab, it's been "insulated cold therepy." It just appears that most people want frezer burns on there legs to prove that it works. I have significant swelling after runs (and since being in the Army, I run almost every day) and this pack works better than the packs I have been given following multiple surgeries. And, when used with ample ammounts of Motrin, it has made both pain and swelling more managable following exercise or bad landings during parachuting. It is definately the best anit-inflamitory weapon in my arsonal!

I recently got meniscus surgery and ordered this to prepare for the pain. Overall a great product! I like that it hugs the knee to ensure cooling over the entire surface. However, my only complaint is that it just doesn't stay cold for very long. For me personally, I have to get it back in the freezer after about 15 minutes and then it takes at least an hour to get it cold enough for my knee again. It works well at my office but I use other ice pack at home as they last longer.

I have been using gel/ice packs for years and I thought it would be great to have this gel cold pack that would wrap around my knee. I ice my knees each time after I run or work out my legs.I found the gel pack does not get very cold as others I have used. The elastic straps are very flimsy and does not work well if you move around or stand up. The gel pack material is also very cheap and does not appear to be very durable.I was looking for a standard gel hot/cold pack with heavy duty elastic straps to hold the pack in place if I needed to stand up and move around. This did not meet my needs.

It does not stay cool for a long time. Temperature is ok. Prefer to be slightly colder. Comfortable though and easy to put on.

I bought this after seeing my friend's shoulder wrap. It can be put in the freezer for cold application or the microwave for hot applications. It's comfortable and does the job. The WHOLE piece is either hot or cold, not just little packets you insert into the device like most others. I would recommend this to anyone.

Easy to use. Fits well and is made well. ACL shredded and meniscus tear so it’s used daily. We use it when we can’t carry the ice water wrap machine (ie school or other people’s house).

Why didn't I buy this a long time ago!I should be having 2 knee replacement surgeries, but I keep putting it off because I'm scared of the process and after effects. So, every two weeks I see a wonderful PT person who also uses this Wrap.At the moment I am not having to use it too often, and I have to admit I haven't tried heating it. However, what a joy to be able to move around without it slipping! And, when I get up the gumption to have the surgery I'll have this wonderful Cold Wrap ! They don't ask here if I would buy it again - but Yes, I would.
