I am new to fondant, how much do I need for a 9in cake 5-6in tall?

You would need far more than this for a cake that size. I would suggest purchasing a 5 pound package of fondant, but not this brand as it dries out quickly while working with it, in my opinion.

Does this product contain gelatin?

According to their website, the ingredients in their vanilla fondant are: "Sugar, corn syrup, water, palm oil, gum tragacanth (stabilizer), natural and artificial flavors, titanium dioxide (coloring), cellulose gum (thickener), glycerine (humectant), modified corn starch, potassium sorbate (preservative), acetic acid (preservative)." So I would say no, there is no gelatin in it. :)

Can you add food coloring to white ?

Yes you can add any color you wish to white (or to any other shade of fondant). Just add it a bit at a time and knead thoroughly to incorporate throughout.

what is the difference between satin white and white vanilla fondant ?
