Gear Aid Camp Line Kit for Hanging and Drying Gear on a 550 Paracord

This is a paracord kit with carabiners and line tensioners. In the kit, you get a 30’ length of paracord in bright red-oranged with silver reflective threads. You also get 2 carabiners rated for 25 lbs that can be suspended from the cord and clip onto items like lights or daypack straps. The carabiners also unscrew to reveal mounting screws for small speakers or lights. Additional items include 2 metal line tensioning tabs and a storage sack. Suggested methods for securing the line and using the tensioners and carabiners are printed on the inside of the packaging (careful how you open it!), on the outside of the storage sack, and on one side of the tensioning tabs. The entire kit weighs just over 5 oz.I have found this kit easy to use, although it would have been better if the package had said “open here” since the instructions printed inside the label are quite useful, but I tore right them when I opened the package. By following the instructions, you can secure the line to trees or posts without tying knots. The carabiners are quite useful and great for hanging lamps. Having the instructions for using the tensioners printed right on the pouch is a great feature. Overall, this is a well thought-out line kit, very handy for camping or utility kits.

Not too crazy about all the plastic build of the clips makes them a little bulky and cheap feeling, I would rather like to see an aluminum build for this price.The clips have a load capacity of 25 pounds and you can also screw off the paracord end for a 1/4 inch camera or light adapter to give those items a clip.The rigging and paracord are fine. They come in a nice package and the 550 cord is great and a great color very visible, the hooks themselves do work I didn’t have a issue figuring them out my wife and one of my friends had some difficulty getting them correct, probably user error but one did come loose but that might have been user error as well. I’m giving them a 3/5 because there was three of us and 1/3 had no problem with them so basically they are either to complicated for some at first or Iv just got some 3 star friends!

I'm sure there are some pro campers and hikers who will scoff at this product, but I think it's so well done, that it's worth recommending to all levels of campers. You get a decent length of paracord, two tensioners, and two hanging clips. Tie a simple knot at the end with the tensioners on the cord and then wrap around a tree, following the directions on the tensioner, and you can easily add or remove slack from your line. Perfect for hanging towels from the beach, food for a bear hang, or supporting a tarp. The two hanging clips are super nice as you can put them on anywhere on the line and they easily clip bags or even clothes that need to dry. Super easy to use, small enough to pack for all but ultra-light backpackers. Highly recommended.
