The difference is: 1) The health plus contains the extra addition of fish oil (omega-3) which is supposed to help with the skin and coat. 2) The pro formula contains Boswellia and no fish oil. Boswellia is an herbal extract that is supposedly outstanding in aiding with joint pain, plus it has been stated to fight cancer holistically. My opinion: Although the health plus is about half the price of the pro formula, for my dog, he does not like the fish smell so he would not eat the health plus version. He does however love the Pro DS Plus and eats it like a treat. I have even been able to disguise one dose of his Gabapentin (mini pain pills) inside as he no longer will eat the Pill Pockets either. He has cancer so I am giving him every chance for a quality of life with less pain that I can give him. Thus, I pay more and get the Pro DS Plus mini chews. If your dog does not have any serious health issues but just has joint pain and doesn't object to the odor or taste from fish oil, I would say to try one packet of the Health Plus first.
