So far, this thermometer works well. I used it a few times after purchase and it seems to be very accurate. Easy to set up and understand the directions. Beep is pretty quiet, too. The light is very good and the numbers are easy to read. Trigger is easy to press and it fits snuggly in my hand. It is a lightweight unit. Manual is very informative. I am impressed with this thermometer. Definitely recommend.

If you want a fast noninvasive way to take temperatures, this is a good choice. If you think you can get as reliable results of someone's internal temp by measuing a small patch of external skin as you would with an internal probe (or at least inside the ear), you're kidding yourself -- get yourself a rectal thermometer. This thing works (I own a diagnostic IR scanner for other purposes that I can compare results with) -- but where and how you choose to do the measurement affects results. I haven't had a thermometer in decades and this helped me realize why not. You don't need a thermometer to know if someone's temp is normal, slightly elevated, hot, or scorching -- and if you can make those distinctions, the precise number is unimportant. At the same time, I like the simplicity and find it useful. Read the instructions and think about how it actually works for best results

Very nice, well made thermometer that really lights up and actually see the temperture. Very easy to use. I would recomment it to anyone! It would make a great gift for mothers to have on hand.

Absolutely perfect, works precisely as advertised. It has two modes; basically they are 1) temperature at the forehead, simply press against the forehead and take the temperature. 2) Read the temperature in a room, point it at open air space and you get temperature reading of the room. They supply the batteries to start with, it's an absolute charm and at the price it's just perfect.
