Greatly reduced pressure drop
Ordered product as it was supposed to be a higher flowing charcoal block filter.. excited to try it and use as a regular replacement. I have a drilled well producing 7 gallon per minute... pressure set to minimum 45psi and pump kicks on to bring it up to 65 psi. I previously used and will for now be reinstalling the big blue 510 filter. There was a noticeable drop n pressure. I was expecting some.. but the pressure before with the 510 was exceptional so loosing a few PSI but no where this much. The shower which was a joy to have.. especially compared to our other house which is on town water. I am guessing a 10 PSI drop easy.... but aside from that estimate... there was a huge noticeable difference in Pressure.. so I cannot recommend this product based on its flow rate being so poor. As for reducing the iron earthy taste... it actually did do that, but it was no where near that bad to warrant the negative in pressure drop.

Solid Finishing FIlter
I have a whole home filter system consisting of a big blue 5 micron sediment filter (changed every 60 days), a backwashing arsenic filter, and finally a big blue with this carbon filter for finishing, any taste/odor, and fine filtration. This filter seems to do a great job. There isn't much for it to catch after my previous filters, so I only change it every 6 months and it still looked more or less new.All carbon filters result in significant pressure loss at higher flow rates but I can just dial up whatever pressure I want on my booster pump so it's a non-issue. The fact that this one also boasts 1 micron (or less) level filtration is a big plus. Most other carbon filters are more like 10 micron. Yes it costs almost twice as much as some other carbon block filters, but given that I only use 2 a year I don't care that much.
