I was worried that this would not hold up to my 8 year old but it does quite well. He is always wanting to look at stuff. Everything fits well in the case with no wiggle so you don't have to worry about things banging around. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that we were having trouble with the light slash mirror but quickly realized why it was not lighting up when pointed up toward the lens. This is great for kids interested in learning about the world. Highly recommend.

Granddaughter loves it, perfect for an 8 yr old

Positioning this microscope is key to enable viewing. It took us 2 hours in our house to find the best location that allowed enough light in to see the slides. Mixed bag. Disappointed as my kids don't have the patience to play with solo - which was the point of this gift.

Carrying case is great!! It’s a beginners for sure, but a great start
