FANTASTIC!!
Of all the DSLR-type adapters I've used this is by far the *BEST* of them all. Specifically because of having the variable ND filters built into the adapter itself. Why is this so important? Regardless if it's photography or film-making, the single-most critical feature in getting a commercial-grade, knockout look is to be in total control of the aperture settings. For example:Let's say you've got a gorgeous, bright-aperture lines like a 50mm f/1.4 - or any lens that has a max aperture greater than F/5.6. You always want to shoot wide-open to have that gorgeous shallow depth-of-field. But the big problem is that when you're in a bright-light situation such as outdoors, even at ISO 100 if you use the aperture wide-open it's a total washout for exposure. Which means in photography you could ramp-up the shutter speed to compensate. But in filmmaking you *can't* ramp up the shutter speed to compensate because then you'll change motion artifacts to the point that things go sideways. So that leaves you only two options: Close down the aperture and subsequently lose the shallow DOF or, use screw-in ND filters to knock down the light. But that means you'd need a different set of filters for each lens because they're all different thread sizes! Annoying and expensive. And high-quality drop-in filters for matte-boxes are not cheap either. This however is the ULTIMATE SOLUTION: With the Variable ND built into the adapter now EVERY LENS that fits the mount will allow you keep whatever aperture setting you select and, knock the down the light for proper exposure. Brilliant! The one I'm using is designed for the Nikon F to Nikon Z mounts, and it works flawlessly. It's built very well, both the F and Z mounts move smoothly and without binding when mounting/dismounting and the rotational dial for the variable ND is oil-dampened and is as smooth as butter. It is also geared, I'm assuming to have it attached to a rail system with a focus-puller attached to it but I haven't gotten that far yet.Like any ND filter there is a slight shift in white-balance but nothing that can't be adjusted for either in-camera or in post with minor corrections. And so far NO loss in sharpness on the best Nikkor glass I've tested so far - including the ultra-sharp primes. If you want both an adapter AND the ability to seamlessly control ND values this is the ticket. GET ONE, ENJOY!!!

It works great, and looks way better than the Nikon adapter!
I’ve literally just put it on my camera, and it’s love at first sight. In addition to the variable ND, I now can adjust my aperture steplessly AND it looks fantastic. If I didn’t lose a stop of light by having it on, I would just ditch the FTZ adapter. I’ll have to report back after a few shoots, but the test shots I just took look wonderful!
