Works just fine, so far!
I installed this on my cheap RIA 10mm and it fit just fine. The small allen wrench DOES NOT FIT the small allen screw, weird they would supply something that does not fit. Now, let's see if it stays in place when I hit the range...

Originally Loved Install - Appeared Good, Functionally Hate It
So, I installed this on a Colt 1911 Mark IV Combat Elite Series 80. The only complaint I had at the time was that the screws could have afforded to be a bit longer and the threads stripped out of the frame/trigger mount. I ended up buying a box of screws and a box of nuts from McMaster-Carr in black oxide finish. The Allen wrench needed for the McMaster-Carr screws was smaller size than the one provided with the rail, but anyone with a set of Allen wrenches should be good to go. After install and before operational tests, I recommended this product when used in combination with McMaster-Carr P/N 91253A113 screws of 4-40 thread, 0.75 inch length, black oxide finish and the corresponding nuts which were McMaster-Carr P/N 96537A120 which were Black-oxide 18-8 SS Machine Screw Hex Nut, 4-40 Thread Size, 1/4 inch Width, 3/32 inch Height. Now, after multiple trials, I have spent way too much time and money trying to make this work in combination with a tactical laser sight and flashlight setup. The grip that this device has on a trigger guard even when tightened so much that high grade screws are on the verge of snapping isn't enough for the rail to stay put (even with one light weight accessory mounted to it) for even a single shot from my full size Colt 1911 Mark IV Combat Elite Series 80. Immediately after one shot, the front of the rail drops and starts pointing toward the ground and the angle gets worse and continues to point lower and lower with each successive shot. I gave this device a try because of the cost of a crimson trace grip mount laser sight. There are a lot of real world situations where you can get a bargain. This is not one of them. Some real world situations are a case of "you get what you pay for," and this is not the case either. This is a case of being ripped off. You'd be better off burning your money for heat in the winter.

Easy Install
This was easy to install. Just needed a little bump and tap to make it fit onto the frame. A little loctite and it's on solid.Final test this week. Taking it to the range. Box of FMJ and see how it holds up.

.45 Springfield 1911 A1
I usually don't write reviews but it seems as if this product has been improperly applied by most of the buyers. I read quite a few reviews before buying and curiosity got the best of me. I have a .45 Springfield 1911 A1 and it fit perfectly, which is the exact opposite opinion of most reviews. It seems as if most buyers haven't realized that there's a third screw in the front that tightens the rail. It's a great, strong piece added to my weapon, mostly for home defense. There hasn't been any problem with it slipping, either (don't use the long end of the tool for leverage). I haven't even put loctite on it... yet. Not sure why people continue to complain about their lasers being off sight but lasers are supposed to be used for only for CQB, not ranged combat. I can only imagine the distance they were shooting to miss center mass. My friends and I in the Infantry Marines call these types of people "shooting illiterates;" A.K.A. "gear qu###s." In other words, people that don't understand the science and strategy behind pieces of equipment. Yet, they still insist on stockpiling as much tactical gear as possible to compensate for their inexperience. All-in-all, it's a decent piece if installed properly.

Loses placement when shot
From my specific model of site arm, it did not fit, but overall I got it to fit, and even then it didn’t work when I went to test it out on the range. It just flew off the gun with my flashlight.

Screw
Sadly I don't believe this product was made for just any 1911,I own a 1911-A1-FS and it has trouble seating flush, plus the screws are not made to take much if any preasure.make sure when adding to your firearm that you are prepared to drill this sucker off.

This was a good idea but the problem with this system is they ...
This is a rail system not ment for a real 1911. I see it more for use in air soft guns. I'm so tired of products coming to gun market that are useless. I'm a die hard gun owner and I don't want to constantly dig through junk that's not going to work. Most of these products look good and say you can use it for this or use it for that and when you get it in your hands it fails. A true range junky wants there add on(be it a rifle or sidearm) to stand up to long hours of use. I bet most of the five star review this has gotten are from first time gun owners who maybe put less Than 220 rounds through there gun so they love it. I on the other hand think I wasted my time and money for this. It's a airsoft accessory that the company wants to sell to real 1911 owners. Don't want to bad mouth this co because they have other gun products that are good to go. If you have a 1911GI .45 ACP that's blued or parkerized this will mess up the finish save your cash and buy one of the mounts that replace your guards
