Yes they are individually wrapped. They came in handy for spills at my son's wedding.

are these the same as the ones found in the Woolite dry clean only kits?

I don't know if they are. I will tell you this, they work! They don't leave a ring around the stain like to pen ones do.

Can these be used on dark clothing like black or navy blue and it won’t cause discoloration or lightening of the fabric?

I wouldn't think so. I have used the wipes on colored fabrics but not as dark as black or navy. Also, I have used the Shout Gel on many fabrics and it didn't discolor them.

Are these good period stains?

They are excellent to keep with you or in your car. They kill the stain before it sets in. I spilled spaghetti sauce on a shirt at a restaurant and pulled out a Shout Wipe and it took the stain right out.
