I highlighted these issues with Marcy Case. However, most of my dissatisfaction with those problems in Asylum and The Marcy Case were resolved with A Prophecy of Dragons. I need to preface this as APoD is our third TS scenario. Asylum and MC took us three attempts each, the first run being super fun, the second being fun, and the third being really frustrating and full of that sense of "alright, let's just get this over with." They really felt like it was impossible to win in less than two runs, where one false move sent you down a long path where the end was ultimate and unavoidable failure due to time. And the worse part is, most of the time there is no way to tell that a path is false and dooms you to this fate. This seemed to be fixed in APoD. We beat it our first run. Now, that run took 4 hours, with all the extensive note taking and deliberating, but it did happen. And it was amazing. We made some wrong calls, wasted some time, but we were able to pull it off with some time to spare. And it was really a very epic experience. This was the best job that the game has done at managing time allotment. I don't want to spoil things, but it was definitely an improvement over the first two scenarios. Also, this is the first time that I felt the characters were appropriately powerful. They had noticeably more health and functionally appropriate skills. We felt like heroes. And we were heroes in the end. We think. There is a loose story line between these three scenarios, so I would recommend playing them in order if you are dedicated to completing the series. But, if you have the base and just want to do fun scenarios, I would recommend this one over MC. Also, I would say this is the most replayable of the scenarios. There are mechanics in the game that really change the enemies you fight and the path to victory. Even just playing as different characters would alter your goals. It would be the equivalent of playing Sonic as Sonic and Tails and beating it, and then replaying it as just Sonic, or as Tails, or as Knuckles. You know the thing to do in each level, but each character offers a slightly different route and play style. The variety that they put into this scenario is really impressive, especially the random factors. This is what I felt that TS could be. And should be. And it really justified all of the money I have poured into this franchise. I hope for more of this. I picked it up for $20.75 on desertcart. And it was worth every penny. This is by far the best. I am giving this a 9/10. To calibrate, Asylum is a 7/10 and MC was a 6/10. I won't say anything about the story specifically, but its captivating, and it sucks you into the game. The base story, The Asylum was very fun, The Marcy case was just so so, but this one was.our favorite so far, but that might be because we are all fantasy setting gamers, so this might not be the case for everybody. Each character felt very unique, and choosing a character to play as was pretty difficult because they each had there pros and cons, and each one looked fun to play as. Second, the stories are challenging and so satisfying that it doesn't make you feel like you've wasted your time or money. It's not too hard you can't figure it out but it's not so easy you don't have to work for the answers and search for the things you need. It even has things to tempt you into wasting time, something this game is based on.
