They also seem to entertain the kids when you use these in their drinks. These silicone molds work great for ice cubes but i recommend putting them on a tray when you fill them up and move them to tthe freezer because the silicone is very flexible and makes it difficult to move around without spilling, especially the larger ones.Since these are silicone molds, they can be used in the oven as well. You can make candies in these or jello jigglers. Because you have the ability to push the item loose from the bottom, everything comes out easily. I usually use these for ice. The smaller molds don't take more than a few hours to freeze so I will empty them out into plastic bags or containers and put in the freezer so I can stock up on the fun shaped ice cubes.The silicone molds are dishwasher safe, however I prefer to hand wash them because they fade and get white spots for me when put in the dish washer. It does not affect the molds usability, just the appearance. Depending on what you use them for may determine if you hand wash or not. For messier projects, the dishwasher is the best way to get them clean because washing each small design is time consuming and difficult to get in the designs.One of the kids favorite things to do with these is to fill them up with juice and make specialty drinks such as freezing pineapple juice and using those frozen juice cubes in orange juice so as they melt it makes a pineapple orange punch. You can experiment with different flavors of juices or just add a little lemon or lime juice in and freeze to freshen up your water with a little taste.I received a set of these silicone ice trays for free in order to test and leave my honest opinion in a review. Since I received these they have been in constant use. My kids love them and so do the adults. If only they were self filling. I seem to be the only one that knows how to fill them back up. I do suggest dumping out the whole tray once frozen and keeping them in a bag. That way you can fill the tray back up. You cannot fill them up as you use them because you cannot remove a frozen one without spilling the non frozen.
