JET 12-Inch Parallel Clamps (70412-2)

I have at least two of all the parallel clamps (including 3 types of Bessey from over the years) and the Jet are MUCH better than the Bessey. The main reason is that the clamp head stays where you put it (until you squeeze the lever) and will not slide down and smash your hand like the Bessey. Plus, when you move the head where it is needed and start tightening the clamp, it tightens - with my Bessey clamps about half the time the head moves rather than tightens (so you must reverse the screw and use 2 hands to tighten - one to hold the lever on head, one to twist - total pain). As I can afford it I will be replacing all my Besey clamps with Jets.

I previously bought 2 of the to pack 50" parallel clamp sets and to of the 2 pac 12" clamp sets.Pros:-Arrived quickly-Lowest price on Amazon (about 45% cheaper than everyone else)-came greased and rust freeCons:-out of the 4x 2-pack deals I bought, there were;-5x caps for handles missing-3x adjustable support sliders missing-2x of the 50" long clamps (One from each of the 2-pack sets) were noticeably bent in a least 2 places along the length of the steel bars.Hopefully Amazon does something to remedy this. I'll will update with the resolution.

I have Bessys for parallel clamps in my shop. I always wondered if the JETs would be better, since most of my machines are made by JET and I like their products. I wanted a couple of 12" smaller parallel clamps so when I saw the price for a pair at a great deal I went for it. Very nice clamps. I like the trigger control on these and they are very smooth. They aren't quite as fancy as the Bessys with their removable clamping faces, but I like that they won't pinch your fingers when you go to hang them up. Would buy more if I ever need more clamps.

Better than I expected. I bought it on sale, and now wish I bought several more pairs. I use a lot of clamps from other competitors that coat more, and these seem to be well worth the money. I like the way they adjust better than parallel clamps that require holding the handle at an angle to keep them from sliding. I will buy again when they go on sale.

Better than the Besseys in my opinion.The 12 inch ones get used when I used to reach for the Jorgensen 3700 series as these won’t damage wood and are beefier by all means.I’ve worked up to eight of the size and after getting like two more, I think I’ll be happy.They seem to have went up significantly since I got mine last month?

Wow these arrived in a heavy box and I couldn't figure out what was in the box because these were so solid and heavy. My box came damaged but the clamps were perfect still. I'm happy with them and they have a lifetime warranty on them. So once again I know Jet will stand buy this product so ots money well spent.

I have eight other Jet Parallel clamps and for so many different projects they are the first claps that I reach for. This became such a 'problem' that I found myself using the clamps in applications where the length of the bar was overkill for whatever I was holding. Eventually, on a bit of a whim, I bought two of the 12" clamps. While the smaller opening makes these clamps less versitle than it's larger cousins, they are mauch easier to weild around and a bit lighter too.I would have to say that these clamps tie with the ones I use the most in my shop. I would still buy the larger clamps first because of the versatility, but you are going to be astounded by how often you use the things.

Matched set design to Jet clamps purchased years ago. Very consistent design over many years.
