I fish in a pond in Florida with lots of turtles. Would the finder show these as fish?

Thanks for the question! Due to air-bladders, fishes provide a slightly different kind of ultra-sound return compared to other underwater objects, so you shouldn't have any issues - Deeper is smart enough to distinguish what kind of sonar return is a fish or not.

It says it connects through WiFi. What if there isn't WiFi available? Do I need an internet connection to use this?

You don’t need a Wi-Fi internet connection or mobile data at your fishing spot! The Deeper device has an internal Wi-Fi access point that you can connect on your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is to turn on Wi-Fi on your smartphone and connect to Deeper access point. You can connect your Deeper device in any place of the world - even the rain-forest of Amazon.

Do you guys have an answer for all the reviews saying it has limited range? What would cause this issue?

Hi there, we do. The maximum connection range that the Deeper Start can achieve is 165 ft. However, the range can be reduced if your smartphone or tablet has a weak Wi-Fi antenna. Can I attach a separate line with a hook onto the deeper?

I don't see why not, however you would end up dragging the deeper finder under water to reel in a fish. I don't think it is designed for that, but you could try.

This piece of garbage just straight up doesn't work, after I put it in the water the wifi signal doesn't even show up at all, on the rate occasion it does I can't even join the network, I suspect it's due to the wifi connection only flashes briefly so by the time I click on them the connection is lost again. The device is fully charged, I've turned off auto join, forgot my usual network, disabled wifi assist, restarted my phone, updated bios, nothing worked because it's not my problem, I will be leaving a one star review and return this pile of dogturd, the fact that a unit THIS FAULTY can escape QA is pure insanity.

It works good for bank fishing. I mostly use it to find drop offs and holes. It cast pretty good with a medium heavy action rod.
