You should make sure the door frame offers enough support. Also, make sure to use at least 5/16 thick eyehooks for it. I mounted them on my garage ceiling using a 4ft 2x4 for each ring to provide maximum support. The 2x4s were attached to 3 2x2 on the ceiling for each eyehook **Q: How short can they get? Could you used them on a six foot power rack for ring dips?** A: You could shorten the straps for dips. The rings will get as short as you like. But you'd probably want to cut the excess...otherwise you'd have a lot of strap length to deal with. **Q: I'm concerned the ring will be too large for my grip. What is the width?** A: Its about (guessing here) 1 and a half to 1 inch in width? Its not too large in my opinion and i have fairly small hands. Its definitely worth it. I've had it for about 4 months now. **Q: Other rings advertise: Our straps are 18 feet long, with a functional range of 9 feet. Is 17' the length of functional range?** A: The rings I purchased have a 14' 4" strap, since the strap must be doubled to use the adjustable buckle (unless you come up with different fasteners), the adjustable length is about 7' max length to 9" min length. The min length is due to the buckle and double back sewn length which is too stiff to put over most supports. So, it's a 6' 3" adjustable length if these are still the same as when I purchased them. There's nothing to keep you from adding a quick link and extra webbing to increase the length. The adjustable length will be the same. Make sure to thread the buckle correctly, it's not obvious.
